🌟 Celebrating Women's History Month! 🌟 Women's History Month is a powerful reminder of the incredible strength, resilience, and brilliance that women have always embodied. Reflecting on history, I can't help but wonder how different our present would be if societal restrictions on women hadn't existed. Recently, I delved into the captivating world of a historical fiction and discovered the remarkable story of Hedy Lamarr. The read led me to further research on this remarkable woman. Before fleeing to the United States, she was married to Austrian leader and businessman Friedrich Mandl. Despite the limitations imposed on her, Hedy utilized her firsthand knowledge gained from conversations her husband had with Axis leaders to pioneer numerous groundbreaking inventions. Tragically, due to her gender, her contributions were overlooked by the US at the time. Yet, it was Hedy's innovative spirit and relentless pursuit of progress that laid the foundation for technologies we now take for granted, such as the spread spectrum technology that was foundational for Wi-Fi and cell phone communications. As we celebrate the achievements of women past and present, let's also acknowledge our responsibility to further the advancement of women today. Let's uplift, support, and empower each other, recognizing that the future is brighter when we stand together. #WomensHistoryMonth #Empowerment #Innovation #Progress

On this #IWD24, Monk's Hill Ventures is proud to have invested in companies with meaningful female representation in the founding teams, with a whopping 28% of companies helmed by a female CEO and 60% of companies having a female board member. This is not a box-ticking exercise - we hold both men and women to the same exacting standards and we expect the same accountability and excellence from them, just as founders should demand the same from their investors and board members. As a female founder and now female investor, I wouldn't expect anything less. At its core, we want to back simply the best teams and invest in the best people, including our colleagues. Women represent not only the majority of MHV's workforce but also 53% of our leadership. We believe the diversity of lived experiences and perspectives this brings ultimately strengthens and adds to our decision making rigor. Come talk to us and find out for yourself.
Kicking off Women's History Month with a spotlight on our female founders. Did you know that within our portfolio, 28% of companies have a female CEO at the helm and 36% have at least 1 female founder on the team?
