Happy #MalaciaMonday! Last week, we discussed seeing more splayed main carinas, but with a #PatientSpecific stent, you can adapt to all branch angles—even the narrowest ones! Check out this example! 👇 #TBM #Tracheobronchomalacia #3DStent

Can you believe we’re nearly halfway through 2024? Check out our mid-year stats on stent placement. Our clinical engineering team has observed an increase in splayed main carinas and some tortuous airways on the right side post-transplant. Have you noticed any similar trends? #IP #Bronchoscopy #LungTransplant #Stenting #MedEd

Here’s another #FistulaFriday for your feed! This #TEF was situated at the main carina, limiting off-the-shelf stent options. Opting for a tailored #3Dstent, the physician achieved a precise, snug fit to treat the defect. #Fistula #IP #Bronchoscopy #Airway #Pulmonology

Meet John, a lung cancer survivor whose journey took a remarkable turn thanks to innovation. After undergoing treatment, John faced a common challenge: a collapsed airway. Portions of his trachea and bronchus were becoming severely constricted due to scarring and other after-effects from past radiation treatment. Thanks to a first-of-its-kind, patient-specific, Y-shaped stent made from a 3D-printed mold, created and developed by Cleveland Clinic inventor and interventional pulmonologist, Thomas Gildea, MD, John has made a comeback and is breathing easier than ever. John's story is a testament to the power of innovation in healthcare. VisionAir Solutions(VAS), a Cleveland Clinic portfolio company that was acquired by THEKEN COMPANIES, LLC in 2023, is a medical device manufacturer dedicated to improving lives with the gift of breath one patient at a time.
