Two years ago today, AmeriCorps joined the U.S. Department of Education and Everyone Graduates Center, Johns Hopkins University at The White House to launch the National Partnership for Student Success, answering President Biden's call for 250,000 more tutors and mentors to accelerate student recovery and success in our schools. Each year, more than 51,000 AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers serve in nearly 10,000 P—12 schools, and thousands more provide support to early learning and out-of-school time programs. They help students develop critical reading and math skills, create warm and welcoming environments, guide students through the college and financial aid application process, and much more to make a difference, like our older adult AmeriCorps members serving in AARP Foundation Experience Corps' Literations. To these members, tutoring students isn't just about helping them learn to read but creating connections to provide trusted support and build confidence in students. These members dedicate their time after retirement to rally behind our students and ensure they are set up to thrive. During NPSS' second anniversary and AmeriCorps' 30th anniversary, we thank the hundreds of thousands of Americans who choose to serve and transform the lives of our students and families every day.
