This #FellowFriday, we asked 2024 Impact Fellow Alexis Hill to reflect on her Fellowship experience thus far: “One accomplishment that I am most proud of in my work as an EP Fellow is my time at GPSN, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting educational equity. At GPSN, I successfully navigated the complex dynamics of philanthropy while staying true to my core values, leading with positivity and love. I utilized my analytical and research skills to support and shape GPSN's projects. My ability to dissect data, identify trends, and present actionable insights played a crucial role in informing our strategies and ensuring that our efforts were both impactful and evidence-based. This analytical rigor was complemented by my knack for building connections. I successfully bridged gaps between different stakeholders, from community members to policy makers, ensuring that our initiatives were well-rounded and collaborative. Overall, my experience at GPSN has been a testament to the power of combining strong values with professional skills. It reinforced my belief that leading with positivity and love can drive meaningful change, and it demonstrated my ability to contribute to and enhance an organization's mission through thoughtful discussion, rigorous analysis, and strategic relationship-building.” == Use your unique skillset to make an impact in K-12 education while accelerating your career. “In my role as Strategic Initiatives Fellow with the DC Public Charter School Board, I am harnessing strategic planning and project management practices to accelerate change in the service of students. There is so much innovative work in education being done in Washington, D.C., and the Fellowship placed me right in the heart of it. In addition to experiencing first-hand what it means to be an authorizing agency in the public charter sector, I am learning from the parallel experiences of my cohort of EP Fellows working in schools, district agencies, federal agencies, and non-profits. Seeing the work that is happening across these different levers of the education system provides an unmatched perspective on its interconnectedness. While each within our own placement, it feels like we are a powerful web throughout the city.” - 2024 Impact Fellow Megan Allen, PhD == Make a meaningful impact in K-12 education while accelerating your career! Happy #FellowFriday! This week, we’d like you to meet 2024 Impact Fellow Jordan Brick, Ed.M: “As an EP fellow, I am supporting operations at Envision Education, a non-profit charter school network in the Bay Area. I am proud to be a Fellow at an organization that promotes anti-racist and pro-Black values in support of middle and high school students, many of whom will be the first person in their family to attend college. Specifically, I have overseen the network’s meal program to ensure that all students can receive free breakfast and lunch every day. By training and assisting school managers, auditing meal service protocols, and developing systems to ensure smooth school operations, I have helped school staff feel more supported in their work and better able to directly impact students.” == Don’t miss out on the opportunity to work on high-impact projects in the K-12 education sector while growing your leadership.
