Today marks the number of days Black women would need to work into 2024 – on top of every day in 2023 – to earn the same that white, non-Hispanic men made in 2023 alone. That's because Black women still make 66 cents to every $1 paid to white men. We must acknowledge our history and use a lens of equity when addressing the #GenderPayGap, holding every industry accountable. We will keep fighting for what we deserve! #BlackWomensEqualPay

Official account of Illinois’ 48th Lieutenant Governor. Advancing justice, equity, and opportunity (#JEO) in Illinois.
About us
Juliana Stratton is excited to serve the residents of Illinois as the state’s 48th Lieutenant Governor. In 2019, she shattered barriers when inaugurated as the first Black Lieutenant Governor and the first Black woman to serve as a constitutional officer in Illinois’ over 200-year history. She is highly qualified, dedicated, and confident that the best solutions for the challenges we face in our communities are found when we tap into the wisdom that already exists within them. In addition to spearheading the administration’s Justice, Equity, and Opportunity Initiative, Stratton also brings her visionary leadership to more than a dozen councils, commissions, boards, and agencies as Chair or executive liaison. Named by Chicago Magazine as one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Chicago,” Stratton has been recognized by numerous organizations as an “Outstanding Legislator,” “Trailblazer and History Maker,” and “Woman of the Year” for her commitment to public service and social justice advocacy. She and her husband, Bryan, live in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood and Springfield with their four daughters. Stratton loves the state of Illinois, the people of Illinois, and doing the work that will make Illinois the best for the next generation.

Bryan and I were proud to see so many Illinois businesses at the 2024 National Restaurant Association Show! The 22 companies in the Illinois Pavilion got exposure to more than 65,000 attendees plus opportunities for global and domestic trade. Kudos to the Illinois Department of Agriculture for leading the way! #AgConnectsUsAll

Mental healthcare is healthcare and we are focused on an inclusive and equitable approach to mental health that will lead to stronger, more resilient communities. No one has to face their challenges alone. Yesterday's mental health discussion was part of the work we're doing for a more healing-centered Illinois.

We've seen incredible growth in ag education. By waiving membership dues, we've opened the door for more youth to join Illinois Association FFA. Record-breaking enrollment and more diverse participation are just the beginning. The future of ag is bright! #AgConnectsUsAll
