“The Decarbon8 community helped us improve our messaging and complete our bridge financing. This allowed us to further invest in the improvement of our technology, and we were able to leverage the E8 network to connect us with commercial opportunities” - Shane Johnson, President and CEO of CarbonQuest CarbonQuest, one of three winners of Decarbon8-US’s 2023 round, captures CO2 before it is emitted from natural gas sources like CHP systems, fuel cells, and industrial boilers, enabling immediate and effective decarbonization. Decarbonizing the built environment using traditional methods, such as electrification, can be costly and intrusive, while CarbonQuest's innovative "Distributed Carbon Capture" technology offers an economically viable solution. Since receiving funding in September of 2023, CarbonQuest has expanded business opportunities to focus on broader distributed applications, including hard to abate industrial and distributed low carbon power, to help address the growing power capacity challenges of the grid. Check out our recent blog post to read more about Decarbon8-US's impact on CarbonQuest: https://lnkd.in/gh2NH2zV They have also recently announced their Series A capital raise, led by Riverbend Energy Group which will allow them to bring their Distributed Carbon Capture™ technology to new markets. You can read more about the funding round and plans for the future here: https://lnkd.in/eMcjBq2F Decarbon8-US is now accepting donations and grants for the 2024 round, focused on renewable energy. Anyone, at any amount, can make a charitable donation to Decarbon8-US to invest in technologies that will accelerate our transition to a cleaner world. "Getting Decarbon8 on the cap table was a great signal to other climate investors in the ecosystem. Since their investment we've landed grants from the US Department of Energy and US Department of Transportation with a specific focus on decarbonizing last-mile delivery, and have expanded internationally.” - Jordan Justus, CEO of Automotus One of four finalists, Automotus received funding in September 2021 from E8’s second round of Decarbon8-US, E8’s philanthropic investment fund, which focused on transportation. Automotus utilizes curb management solutions to reduce emissions, congestion, and safety hazards by using machine learning on data collected through cameras and more. Since receiving funding from Decarbon8-US in 2021, Automotus has maxed out production in its pilot facility at its headquarters and is planning a larger production facility to continue exponential scale-up. They have more than 4000 cameras under contract, deploying at major municipalities and airports including Santa Monica, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh. Check out our recent blog post to read more about Decarbon8-US's impact on Automotus. https://lnkd.in/gyvu4uHK Decarbon8-US is now accepting donations and grants for the 2024 round, focused on renewable energy.
