We finance data to saves lives.
About us
The Complex Risk Analytics Fund, short CRAF’d, is new multilateral financing instrument to foster an open data ecosystem that supports all stakeholders in crisis anticipation, prevention and response. Inspired by the Secretary-General’s Data Strategy, CRAF'd is the result of a joint design process championed by Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, and the United Nations family, as well as other partners across the globe. With sustainable and scalable financing, CRAF'd will foster an ecosystem that expands shared capabilities for unlocking more power from data for insight, impact, and integrity in crisis action. Administered by the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office, CRAF'd fully operational in early 2022. The fund's acronym CRAF'd (pronounce k-r-a-a-f-t) signifies the shared commitment to invest in excellence in the use of data for the common good.

Proud that this fact sheet from the White House detailing advancements under the Women, Peace and Security agenda in conjunction with the 75th NATO anniversary highlights the U.S.' work through the Complex Risk Analytics Fund (CRAF'd). We're dedicated to anticipating, preventing, and responding to crises and to addressing the gender-specific data gap in these settings. A huge shoutout to my WPS colleagues Jennifer K. Johnson, Janina Staguhn, and Willow Kreutzer, Ph.D. for making this happen and for their consistent dedication to furthering U.S. WPS goals. https://lnkd.in/gTUZUf-h From the fact sheet: "The U.S. is a founding member and steering committee participant in CRAF’d, a UN multi-partner trust fund which supports critical data needs to anticipate, prevent, and respond to crises. In June 2024, together with our partners in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Nations, the U.S. launched a $3 million call for proposals to address the current paucity of gender-specific data in crisis and conflict settings, which leaves crisis responders ill-equipped to analyze and address the unique impacts on women, girls, and other vulnerable groups."
