The Next Generation: African-Led Development
About us
CorpsAfrica is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2011 by a former Peace Corps Volunteer seeking to recognize and build on Peace Corps's enormous success by offering the same transformative experience to emerging leaders in Africa - giving them the chance to be a part of the solution for their own countries. CorpsAfrica applies the newest and best approaches to international development, including empowering local communities, promoting collaboration among NGOs and our development partners, monitoring and impact evaluation. We recruit men and women to move to high-poverty communities within their own countries for a year and initiate projects that fulfill key needs in their communities and whose impact and success can be carefully measured and monitored. CorpsAfrica started in Morocco and has expanded Senegal, Malawi, and Rwanda.

🌍 Exciting Milestone for CorpsAfrica! 🌍 We are thrilled to announce that CorpsAfrica recently held its first Joint Global Training for Training Officers and Volunteer Liaisons at the start of June. Over an inspiring 13 days, 59 participants—representing over 50% of our country office staff—came together to learn, share, and grow. Participants delved into a wide array of topics, including: 🔹 Site Development 🔹 Coaching Volunteers 🔹 Applying Human Centred Design/Asset Based Community Development 🔹 Large Group Trainings 🔹 Instructional Design and Lesson Planning 🔹 Community Lead Development Projects 🔹 Development Partners Engagement A recurring theme was the pivotal role of staff in training, coaching, connecting, and modeling to support Volunteers throughout their service. This training not only enhanced collaboration between countries and between Training Officers and Volunteer Liaisons but also rejuvenated the teams as they move towards finalising sites and planning for PSTs. Here's to continuous learning, collaboration, and impactful service! 🚀💡 CorpsAfrica/Senegal CorpsAfrica/Kenya CorpsAfrica/Malawi CorpsAfrica/Maroc CorpsAfrica/Ghana Corpsafrica/Gambia CorpsAfrica/Rwanda CorpsAfrica/ Ethiopia #ThisIsCorpsAfrica
