    We're thrilled to share that the City of Waukee has been awarded grant funding for two exciting community projects! • National Fitness Campaign awarded $30,000 toward a public outdoor fitness center at Ridge Pointe Park along the Heart of the Warrior Trail. This new equipment will give residents and visitors of all fitness levels and ages access to free, adaptable workouts. • Bravo Greater Des Moines awarded $50,000 for the upcoming public art installation along Tallgrass Pond. Look for an announcement on the design soon!

    Be part of the celebration! Showcase your brand and connect with your community in Waukee's Independence Day Parade on July 4. Participation is free, and we invite your business or organization to apply by 10 p.m. on June 30. Submit your entry now at Waukee.org/July.   A few key things to know: 1. Candy is allowed, but no water balloons, water guns or spraying water at spectators. 2. The parade is a community event for all families and all ages, so keep your float to a “G” rating. 3. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the floats, vehicles or in the staging area. 4. No loud noise makers (horns, sirens), so the parade is enjoyable for everyone.

    We're hiring! We're accepting applications for a Traffic Signal Technician to join our Public Works team. You'll be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing traffic signal equipment, street lights and traffic signs around Waukee. You must have the required International Municipal Signal Association certifications or be ready to get them during your first year. The hourly wage for this role is $30.11 - $35.23. You'll responsible for a variety of maintenance and repair duties including installing water meters, testing samples and completing service calls. You must have your IDNR Water Distribution & Water Treatment Grade I certifications or be ready to get them during your first year and a half. The hourly wage for this role is $27.84 - $30.11.
