Sharing information saves lives! Thank you to the CSG Justice Center for hosting us as part of their New Jersey Overdose Community Response learning community earlier this month. We’re proud to be able to share our work and how we have been able to build our team, who provide our community the behavioral health & crisis services and support they deserve. Our friends at Salvation and Social Justice from Trenton, the Newark Community Street Team, Tier1 Recovery from Patterson, and the New Jersey Department of Health are expanding first response throughout New Jersey and ensure that our communities receive a proper response from trained staff when facing behavioral health crises. Grateful for the opportunity to present at the Latino Providers Network's June 2024 Resource Meeting earlier this week alongside other community providers! Today, BCRI celebrates Juneteenth, which marks the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. The institution of slavery has had a lasting negative impact that persists in many forms and spaces today: Black individuals and communities across the country face disproportionate levels of discrimination, poverty, incarceration, and mental health challenges. BCRI is committed to continuing to advocate for a world where access to opportunities, resources, and supports are made available for all who are in need. #Juneteenth #Freedom #Equality #mentalhealth

Join BCRI in recognizing Pride Month 2024 this June! As an organization with LGBTQ+ representation at all levels of leadership and direct service, BCRI fully understands the importance of mental health and well-being within these communities. LGBTQ+ individuals often face unique challenges that impact their mental health, from discrimination to internalized stigma. According to data from The Trevor Project, more than 1 in 10 (12%) LGBTQ+ young people attempted suicide in the past year.
