Let's talk about mental health in the LGBTQ+ community. 🌈 Research reveals that our friends and family face higher risks of mental health challenges. 🤯 Did you know? LGBTQ+ adults are over twice as likely to experience conditions like depression or anxiety. 😔 And for our youth, the struggle is real – they're six times more likely to battle depression and four times more likely to attempt suicide. 💔 Let's break the stigma and spread understanding. 💪🏳️🌈 https://buff.ly/48tO9k6 #MentalHealthMatters #LGBTQSupport #BreakTheStigma #dgoli #holisticwellness

This Pride Month, we're celebrating the beautiful diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. While acceptance is growing, there's a critical need for more research on mental health within this vibrant population. Why is this important? • Many mental health resources don't accurately reflect the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals. • Discrimination, homophobia, and prejudice create significant barriers to accessing and trusting support services. • Studies shows the LGBTQ+ community experiences higher rates of depression, anxiety, and unmet healthcare needs. We stand with the LGBTQ+ community by: • Creating a safe and inclusive space for open communication. • Providing access to mental health professionals who understand the specific needs of LGBTQ+ individuals. • Building a supportive community where everyone feels welcome to share their experiences. Join us in creating a world where everyone can access the mental health support they deserve. Let's break down barriers and prioritize mental well-being for all! #lgbtq #lgbtqmentalhealth #mentalhealthawarness #psychologistsonlinkedin #psychologist #psychology #psychstats #lgbtqpride #pridemonth #supporteachother #healthcareneed #educateyourself #lgbtqcommunity #beproud #theconfessionboxx

Improving healthcare quality via my business and healthcare studies expertise by advocating for equality and prioritizing the well-being of patients, residents, and staff in healthcare facilities.
As a woman with a little sister in the LGBTQ+ community, I am sharing this post to bring awareness to the facts that the realm of public housing still has a profusion of work to do regarding the mental health of LGBTQ+ members. "Compared to non-LGBT people, LGBT people have higher rates of poverty, lower rates of homeownership, and higher rates of homelessness. LGBT people face an array of stigma and discrimination that undermines their ability to have stable, safe, and affordable housing. Federal, state, and local laws provide only a patchwork of protections against anti-LGBT discrimination in housing, lending, and social services... The federal Fair Housing Act and Equal Credit Opportunity Act do not expressly prohibit discrimination on the bases of sexual orientation and gender identity, but they do prohibit sex discrimination and many courts have concluded anti-LGBT discrimination is a form of sex discrimination under these and similar statutes" ("LGBT People and Housing Affordability, Discrimination, and Homelessness").
Having a supportive community is essential! If you, a friend, or a loved one is seeking LGBTQ+ mental health resources, here are some options to consider. #PrideMonth

Suicide prevention is a critical issue for everyone, and it’s especially vital within the LGBTQ community. Studies show that LGBTQ individuals are more likely to have mental health problems and consider suicide compared to their cisgender peers. This increased risk has nothing to do with the person. It is due to factors like discrimination, social stigma, family rejection, and bullying. Understanding these challenges for LGBTQ folks is crucial. It will help ensure they receive the appropriate support and resources they need. In this blog, we will explore why LGBTQ folks are at higher risk for suicide and how services need to be specialized. We will also highlight 5 LGBTQ-specific suicide resources.

We want you to be your truest, MOST authentic self-- and therapy can help you get there. ⭐️ We are educating our clinicians and communities about the importance of caring for the unique mental health needs of the queer community.
