More than 60 years with writers, correspondents, and editors compiling news and updates from the cosmetics industry, consumed by a loyal and constant base of over 189,000 industry professionals. As you may have noticed, when working with Happi, the heart of the project is the massive flow of information. This challenge was perfectly addressed by our UX team. When dealing with such a large volume of data, it is very easy to create a confusing portal and consequently lose the audience's attention. The Happi case was one of the biggest logistical challenges we faced in this regard over the last two years. Besides a huge portal with extensive editorial content from years of activity, for the “Buyer’s Guide” platform, we went from understanding a complex business model to gaining an in-depth knowledge of the client's product, involving an advanced search for companies, products, and formulas. To provide a better experience, we created various filter combination possibilities, types of views, planned ad implementation, studied the best mobile experience, designed dashboards for associated companies, tutorials, and even implemented gamification of the process. All of this wrapped up in a functional and beautiful design system. Unfortunately, for various reasons beyond our control, the project did not go live as we had envisioned. It's a pity, as all the prior planning work highlighted the importance of UX in a website. An importance that is not always noticeable, as it is a difficult task: organizing content so that everything is in its place and easy to find, no matter how obscure, attracting the viewer's eye to the right path and directing their attention. An invisible job, but one that makes the difference between the success and failure of an endeavor. In this particular project, from creation and involvement of our design and development team, we presented all information in its best form, highlighting strengths and diverting attention from the complexity of execution. 😉 It didn't go live as we thought, but these things happen. A website is made up of layers upon layers of work and complexity. A much greater complexity than you might see at first glance. Press F12 and you’ll get an idea of what we're talking about here. This is also frontend. Frontend is the part of programming that goes hand in hand with design. It takes care of the functionality and interaction of everything you see on the screen: visual elements, menus, buttons, forms, as well as the logic that controls how these elements work and behave. Frontend is the universal language that ensures the same website opened in Japan looks and functions the same when opened in Finland or Brazil. We were born and raised in the South. We never imagined we would be celebrating our 14th anniversary in the midst of everything that has happened. Improbable. The improbable is a common theme in our history: we went through critical moments of revenue loss many years ago, weathered global pandemics, abrupt changes in the political landscape worldwide, and forecasted climate disasters. Things that once belonged in fiction books happening in the daily news. Improbable like a designer and later a trained musician in search of more opportunities starting a studio 14 years ago and it gaining global recognition. Having projects in 22 countries. 19 languages. Winning global awards. Expanding our scope to websites, apps, and games, and in the process, going much further than we ever expected at the beginning. We were inexperienced. We learned along the way. The crises didn’t knock us down; they taught us to focus better, to plan our steps, and to see all possibilities. And with every challenge, we were reborn bigger. Stronger. Bigger in size. Financially bigger, sometimes even to our own surprise. After every disaster, we were still here the next day. Because challenges teach, including how to fall standing. They also teach the value of community and trust. In ourselves and in those around us. In our team. We started as two in Porto Alegre, with no greater ambitions than to provide for ourselves, and today we are almost 50. We’ve come a long way because life is difficult, challenging, a teacher, unpredictable, improbable. It’s our story, but it could be anyone’s. And that’s why we also know that the South will change, recover. And it will be even stronger the next day. 14 years defying all odds. 14 improbable years.
