"Thoughts"
I found a thought in my brain
Something I haven't seen in here for days
I asked before it escaped
"What brought you here to this desolate place?"
Using blood for ink, I watch my stories fade
Writing poetry with thoughts that I erased
Every phrase that never saw the light of day
Will become the only words I ever say
And I hope that somehow
My soul will calm down
As I learn to pronounce
The language I betrayed
As I sweat from my brow
And decipher these vowels
May I comprehend doubt
With thoughts that never stayed
I felt my conscience awake
It seemed to scare all my ideas away
I asked if it would behave
I wish I knew how to make it obey
Using ink for blood, I write until I'm drained
Leaving memories I hate upon the page
I don't think I'll ever see the light of day
If I leave a piece of me to pave the way
And I hope that somehow
My soul will calm down
As I learn to pronounce
The language I betrayed
As I sweat from my brow
And decipher these vowels
May I comprehend doubt
With thoughts that never stayed
And though they'd never stay
I will find a place
To sit and contemplate
Until I awaken all that I am, now
And I hope that somehow
My soul will calm down
As I learn to pronounce
The language I betrayed
As I sweat from my brow
And decipher these vowels
May I comprehend doubt
With thoughts that never stayed
I found a thought in my brain
Something I haven't seen in here for days
I watched it walk through my veins
Out through my fingertips, into the page

"And darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70
And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Oh me I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am
So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are"

"Extreme ways are back again
Extreme places I didn't know
I broke everything new again
Everything that I'd owned
I threw it out the windows, came along
Extreme ways I know move apart The colors of my sea
Perfect color me
Extreme ways that help me
That help me out late at night
Extreme places I had gone
But never seen any light
Dirty basements, dirty noise
Dirty places coming through
Extreme worlds alone
Did you ever like it then
I would stand in line for this
There's always room in life for this
Oh baby, oh baby
Then it fell apart, it fell apart
Oh baby, oh baby
Then it fell apart"
Juvenile Tri-Colored Heron
From Audubon:
On the southeastern coastal plain, the Tricolored Heron is a characteristic bird of quiet shallow waters. Strikingly slender, with long bill, neck, and legs, it is often seen wading belly-deep in coastal lagoons. Although it is solitary in its feeding, it is sociable in nesting, often in very large colonies with various other herons and egrets. Formerly known as Louisiana Heron.

Roseate Spoonbill
From Audubon:
Gorgeous at a distance and bizarre up close is the Roseate Spoonbill. Locally common in coastal Florida, Texas, and southwest Louisiana, they are usually in small flocks, often associating with other waders. Spoonbills feed in shallow waters, walking forward slowly while they swing their heads from side to side, sifting the muck with their wide flat bills.

Proceedings of the Royal Society
Organisation/s: Macquarie University, The University of Western Australia
Funder: WA Premier’s Fellowship, the Australian Research Council (ARC), the Western Australian (WA) State Government.
The study provides a comprehensive description of the spectral sensitivity of the emu, Dromaius novaehollandiae, a member of the group of large flightless birds, the Palaeognathae, that are thought to represent the basal species in avian evolution. More specifically, it provides definitive evidence that these birds are sensitive to ultraviolet (UV) light as they possess UV-sensitive cone photoreceptors, ocular media that allow transmission of UV light, and a UV-sensitive visual pigment.
Afternoon preening session at Merritt Island - Roseate Spoonbill
From Smithsonian:
Spoonbills fly in long diagonal lines with their necks and legs completely stretched out.
It is thought that the roseate spoonbill receives its bright coloring from the pigments of the crustaceans that it eats.
When it walks, the roseate spoonbill swings its head back and forth in a sideways motion.

Elafonisos island, Laconia, Greece.
Elafonisos is a small Greek island, situated at the southeast of Peloponnese. The tropical beaches, among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean and the underwater archaeological discoveries make this island one of the most precious places to visit in a Summer, in a lifetime.

Eastern Meadowlark -
Note - other shots from this 'sitting' are in the comments below.
From Audubon:
A familiar bird, known by the black "V" on its chest when it sings from a fencepost, or by the flash of white tail feathers when it flushes from the grass. The clear whistled song of the Eastern Meadowlark can be heard in spring not only in the East but also in desert grasslands of the Southwest. Some scientists believe that the southwestern form is actually a different species. Other races of the Eastern Meadowlark are widespread in Central America and northern South America.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Albaicín (Spanish pronunciation: [alβajˈθin]) or Albayzín (Arabic: ٱلْبَيّازِينْ) as it was known under Muslim rule,[disputed – discuss] is a district of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. It retains the narrow winding streets of its Medieval Moorish past dating back to the Zirid dynasty.[citation needed] It was declared a World Heritage Site in 1984, along with the Alhambra.
The area that later became the Albayzín was first populated by the Iberians, the original inhabitants of the Iberian peninsula, with dispersed Roman settlements later appearing nearby. Nothing is known of its history before the arrival of the Muslim Berbers, so it is assumed that the city was abandoned after the fall of the Roman Empire until the founding of the Zirid kingdom in 1013, when its defensive walls were built. According to some linguists it owes its present name to the inhabitants of the city of Baeza, called "Beatia" by the Romans, who were banished after the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa and settled here outside the walls. Other linguists assert that the name derives from the Arabic al-bayyāzīn (pronounced al-bayyīzīn with the imāla vowel-shift), meaning "suburb of falconers". However, the fact that in Andalusia there are many other neighborhoods with that name, including those in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Alhama de Granada, Salobreña, and Antequera, among others, casts doubt on this thesis. A more likely hypothesis is that the name of Albaicín derives from Arabic البائسين (al-bāʾisīn, 'the miserable' [plural]).[1]
The Albaicín, one of the oldest centers of Muslim culture in Granada, contains the Alhambra, the Realejo (which was the Jewish quarter), and the Arrabal de Bib-Arrambla, in the flat part of the city. Before the Muslim conquest of the Iberian Peninsula there were three small settlements in what is now the city of Granada and its surroundings:
Happy Macro Monday. This week's theme is vowel ... here we the the Enterprise, as an Ornament ... both beginning in a vowel.
Liked the results here of the ornament that I suspended about 10 feet from the tree to get some isolation between the subject and the lights, creating some interesting bokeh with the lens at f/16.
I also captured this at ISO 800 to reduce the time of the exposure ... the dogs walking around and Mrs. Krach that was moving about was creating minor quakes in the space time continuum ... and longer exposures resulted in minor movement of the ornament suspended in the bokeh.

Green Heron
From 10,000 Birds:
The Green Heron (Butorides virescens) is a spectacular species familiar to anyone who pays attention to the places where water meets land. There are so many impressive aspects to this handsome heron. One could dwell on how convoluted its family tree is… the Butorides complex, as it’s called, is surprisingly complex. While Butorides spans the globe, it is either recognized as a single species called Green-backed Heron or as three distinct species, the aforementioned New World heron B. virescens along with the Old World Striated Heron (B. striatus) and the slate-gray Lava Heron (B. sundevalli) of the Galapagos. In either case, green herons are silly with subspecies, which may themselves eventually be recognized as full species.
