Situated to the northwest of Culross within West Kirk Churchyard and surrounded by agricultural land, this was the former parish church of Culross. It was replaced by the Abbey Parish Church by an Act of Parliament of 1633. However, it appears that the church had been out of use for some time before this, as the Act records that the church was in a ruinous condition at this time. The church was originally of rectangular plan, but a later addition (seventeenth century) burial aisle altered the shape of the building. The church is now roofless and in a decrepit state although it is without doubt a beautiful old ruin.
