One of my attempts at the "Crazy Tuesday" theme "Leaves"
Shot with a Mamiya "Sekor CU 65 mm F 5.6" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
The dragonfly alights on floating pond debris or plants - anywhere she can dip her tail into the water and deposit her eggs. She will do this for quite some time at several different sites, and that fulfills all dragonfly parenting responsibilities. The adult dragonflies only live a matter of weeks, their eggs hatch into nymphs which will spend several years living under the water until the survivors finally emerge, undergo their final moult and fly off as adults, and the cycle begins again. Dragonflies (and damselflies) are amongst the most successful animals on earth having been around, substantially unchanged, for millions of years.
Always a thrill to see these beautiful colourful insects and a privilege to be able to photograph them.
Italy is beautiful. I should keep a photo journal when I travel because most of the time I don’t have my camera’s GPS on and I just vaguely remember where I took some of the pictures.

Opened in 1970, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path was the first National Trail in Wales · It runs for 186 miles or 299 km from St Dogmaels to Amroth ..
A stroll through my garden in bright sunlight and shadows with my backup camera, a Canon EOS M mirrorless camera with a kit zoom lens. I like its DOF and Bokeh.
