A Place in the Sun couple Janet and Andrew were on the hunt for their dream Spanish home, but they were left unimpressed with the second property they were shown
On Monday's instalment of Channel 4's hit show, A Place in the Sun, presenter Danni Menzies was tasked with finding the dream Spanish home for couple Janet and Andrew.
The pair had been dreaming about living out their retirement under the warm Spanish sun on the western Costa del Sol for a decade. Given their handsome budget of £200,000, they were eager to discover a three-bedroom townhouse with ample space outside for their pet dog.
With the stakes high due to selling their UK home already and living in a rented property abroad, Danni went above and beyond by showcasing five spectacular properties.
The house hunting journey started well with the couple loving the first offering a two-bedroom abode in San Pedro; however, they felt like something was missing.
Unfortunately, the second stop did not fare well - a three-bedroom flat in La Duquesa that was conveniently under budget, priced slightly over £179,000. Despite its appealing price, the potential homeowners were unsettled by the steep hill leading to the property.
Janet expressed her worries to Danni regarding the demanding hill: "I'm a little bit concerned about that hill. It's a bit too steep and a bit too long."
Despite falling in love with the view, Andrew remarked: "It's that hill. Perfect property but that hill. It's the right property in the wrong place."
In response, Janet lamented" "So sad," while Danni was clearly disappointed as she remarked: "That's a shame."
However, the couple's luck turned around when they snapped up a two-bedroom duplex in Los Flamencos for £226,496.
Social media was abuzz with viewers' reactions to the episode, with some highlighting the couple's issue with the steep hill leading to their ideal property, while others celebrated their successful purchase.
