A Place in the Sun filming cancelled as 'disaster' episode forces bosses to 'call wrap'

Laura Hamilton, presenter of A Place In The Sun, recollected a memorable blunder during the filming of an episode for the Channel 4 show. The 42 year old TV personality recounted having to halt production when the keys to one of the houses they were supposed to film got locked inside the property while shooting in Florida.

Speaking recently, Laura commented: "There was once an episode that I did where, unfortunately, the keys for the property got locked inside the property, and we couldn't film it. That was a bit of a disaster. It was in Florida, but that was so many years ago. So we had to call a wrap on that and then show them the property the next day, which wasn't obviously ideal. But it was just one of those things."

During her interaction with The Sun, she continued: "It was kind of like, who's got the keys? Oh, God, you know, imagine that thing that kind of happens at home. Who's got the keys? Who's got the keys? And it was like, oh my God, the keys are inside."

While her on-screen exploits make for great television, off-camera, she's reportedly been in the headlines due to rumoured romantic entanglement with a married man.

In a dramatic twist of personal affairs, Laura revealed last year that her marriage to Alex Goward had ended after nearly a decade. The pair, parents to Rocco, 10, and Tahlia, 8, have since parted ways, reports the Mirror.

However, whispers of new love surfaced for Laura earlier this month, with reports suggesting she's now romantically linked to James Pettigrew, much to the dismay of his estranged wife Jackie.

The MailOnline source spilled the beans on the affair: "Laura has been dating James since January and they spend all their time together. While Laura has been single since splitting from her ex-husband, James is still married, and their relationship has caused his estranged wife Jackie a lot of hurt and upset."

The insider continued, revealing the distress it has caused: "She was unaware of their romance in the early days and is now going through a painful divorce, with her priority being to protect her two daughters. Laura and James have made every attempt to keep their relationship private but it's been months and they're so close now, they are fully committed to each other and making this work long-term."

Two months back, Laura and James were seen enjoying each other's company at the Scottish FA Cup Final in May, where they watched the intense match between Celtic and Rangers from the comfort of the hospitality suite. Reflecting on her separation from her husband Alex, Laura candidly shared: "We are co-parenting, and it works. But even that, you know, I kind of felt like I had failed."

She divulged that their diverging life paths played a role in their split, stating: "It was a decision we both came to. We have an enormous amount of respect for each other, but we are now on different paths. At the point, it was announced, we'd already overcome a lot of difficult times. But I am lucky that we have the relationship and respect for each other that we have, and our children's happiness will always be our priority."
