Jasmine Harman responded to claims that A Place in the Sun is fake. The presenter, 48, has fronted the Channel 4 property hunting show since 2004.

The TV host, who moved to the Costa Del Sol last year, addressed the bold claim on social media after a member of her team heard it from a British person living in Spain.

Taking to Instagram, Jasmine began: "I just wanted to jump on and tell you about something I heard yesterday.

"One of our agents said that a British person they know that lives over here in Spain had told them that A Place In The Sun is all fake, that the house hunters get paid to be on the show, and that no one ever buys."

The property expert continued: "Twenty years I've had hundreds of house hunters that have bought properties that we found them on the show. Our house hunters don't get paid."

She insisted: "Our house hunters don’t get paid, they get their expenses, travel and accommodation etc, that gets paid, of course, but they don’t get a fee, they’re not actors, they’re real, genuine house hunters.

Jasmine said there is a casting team that "makes sure" the guests on the show are "bona fide, serious house hunters," adding: "For any doubters out there, it’s definitely real, it’s not fake."

The mum-of-two reiterated her point in the caption, admitting she felt "offended" and "upset" by the claims. She wrote: "Usually I wouldn’t worry myself with idle chit chat or silly remarks but this one really got to me!

"The entire team at @aplaceinthesunofficial work so hard so when someone said it was all 'fake,' I was a bit upset and offended. I’ve spent 20 years of my life working on the show and trust me I wouldn’t be still doing it if it wasn’t real and life-changing."

The radio presenter revealed that everything viewers see, such as reactions and emotions from the presenters and house hunters, are "all real".

She added: "I know most people know this already, because so many people approach me and say how they have been inspired by the programme, but I just wanted to set the record straight."

Jasmine shared a further update on her Instagram Stories, telling her followers: "I just want to update you on what happened last week with the person who claimed A Place in the Sun was all fake because we had the best outcome."

She revealed the property hunters they were working with purchased their dream home, once again shutting down rumours that the show isn't real.
