Supporting the distribution of knowledge on prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease is a major responsibility of the European Society of Cardiology.
In order to improve clinical practice, the ESC charges groups of European experts with the task of creating recommendations and guidelines for clinical practice, published as reports by task forces or other study groups.
These recommendations and guidelines clarify areas of both consensus and disagreement, allowing distribution of the best possible guidance to physicians.
