Metadata for Download
IMF eLibrary provides metadata files for the complete collection of publications. Users can download metadata files in these formats:
MARC records (available in four file formats)
Excel sheet
MARC records are updated monthly, while the full Excel metadata file is updated as often as weekly. For more information about metadata, please see that section of the FAQ here.
The full MARC records for eLibrary in five different formats: Marc 21, Marc 21 xml, Marc 8*, Marc Text and Excel. There are also files for Deleted Records and Monthly Updates, available in the four Marc formats.
The files have been zipped for faster download. Please right-click on the file and select save target as, in order to open the file into your software program.
IMPORTANT UPDATES - June 2024: The MARC records have undergone a comprehensive review and update process. We are now providing actual urls instead of the persistent links that were in earlier sets. We have also filled gaps in records for publications in the collection. We recommend you remove existing IMF MARC records from your system and reload the Full set now available below. For clariy, monthly sets from June 2024 forward will provide actual vs. persistent links. Monthly sets from May 2024 and earlier are in the older format of persistent links.
UPDATED MARC STANDARD - RDA: Starting with the August 2021 records, the IMF has produced MARC records according to the RDA standards, to improve the usability and integration of IMF content at institutions. Please make sure your processing routine makes note of these changes and let us know of any issues you encounter. By the November update, we will provide an updated set for the Full set and previous three months. Older MARC data will continue to be available on the site, but will not be back-converted to the RDA standard.
