Ukraine boss Serhiy Rebrov was left astounded after initially criticising Mykola Shaparenko's pass against Slovakia.

The two sides were level at 1-1 with ten minutes remaining of the Euro 2024 clash when Shaparenko played a pass forward.

Former Tottenham and West Ham player Rebrov initially wasn't pleased with the pass and expressed his frustration.


However, his anger soon turned to elation as Shaparenko's pass eventually fell into the path of Roman Yaremchuk. who scored what proved to be the winner.

Shaparenko had earlier pulled Ukraine level as he scored in the 54th minute after Ivan Schranz gave Slovakia the lead.

Ukraine's victory against Slovakia saw them bounce back from their 3-0 loss to Romania in their opening fixture.

Rebrov's side are currently in second place in Group E but Belgium and Romania are in action on Saturday night.

Ukraine will take on Belgium on Wednesday in their final group game. 

At Euro 2020, Ukraine reached the quarter-finals of the competition having been knocked out in the group stages in the previous two tournaments.

Shaparenko, who made his Ukraine debut in 2018, has played for his country on 33 occasions and has scored two goals.
