Two friends have revealed the shocking results of having their lip fillers dissolved in a hilarious video that's gone viral online.

Demi Passaris and Samuel Venchus went to get their lips redone earlier this year - only to leave the injector's office with wildly oversized pouts.

Sharing the video to Instagram, Demi joked, 'We really thought we were going to be gorgeous.'

She could also be heard laughing hysterically in the background as she filmed her stunned pal Sam gazing at his swollen lips in the mirror.

'We were botched,' she said into the camera, before turning the lens back to Sam.

People in the comments section were shocked, with many comparing the two friends to characters from Monsters Inc.

'Your friend looks like a pretty serial killer,' wrote one.

'I'm f***ing crying,' said another, before adding, 'Please tell me things have settled down!'

One person blasted the pair, writing, 'You weren't botched... you asked for that... and paid for it... you thought you were gonna look great because the industry is mind poison.'

Demi and Sam later clarified that they weren't actually 'botched,' explaining that they'd simply gone in to have their previous lip fillers dissolved before getting fresh injections.

It's normal for lips to temporarily balloon after having filler dissolved, which is caused by a combination of extra volume from the dissolving fluid, as well as swelling from the injections.

In a follow-up video, the pair announced that their lips had returned to a normal size.

'Everyone wanted an update on what we look like post-dissolve,' she said.

'Sam looks literally gorgeous. Still juicy, because they're redone,' the hair colorist continued.

'I'm not botched anymore, but thank you for the concern,' she finished.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, Dr. Deepak Dugar, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, warned people to be careful when getting lip fillers.

'It might seem trendy to dissolve lip fillers right now - but it's better to never have to get to that point and to just have more optimal filler choices and techniques from day one,' he urged.

Dr. Dugar, who has treated celebrity patients like TikTok influencer Madi Monroe and Vanderpump Rules star Dayna Kathan, offered his advice on how people can find the best injector for their lips.

'The best tips for first time lip filler patients is to go for a LOW dose and touch up with additional filler as needed,' he stressed.

'Go to a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist or nurse, physician's assistant, or a nurse practitioner who has safety as their main priority - not money,' he continued.

'Today’s medspa world is run by private equity firms and other institutional finance firms that prioritize profit over patient care by default. Skip Instagram trends and focus on safety and timeless results. I would rather do two treatments on a patient than do too much the first time.'

Following years of plumped up pouts being in fashion, dozens of celebrities have started dissolving their lip fillers in recent years.

Last year, Olivia Culpo said she was 'really happy' with her lips after getting her filler dissolved ahead of her wedding.

In 2023, pop star Ariana Grande confessed that she'd gone 'overboard' with enhancements, but is now embracing her natural beauty.

'I had a ton of lip filler over the years and Botox. I stopped in 2018 because I felt so — too much. For a long time, beauty was about hiding for me, and now I feel like maybe it's not,' she told Vogue.

Earlier this year, social media sensation Bhad Bhadie, 21, said she'd had her facial fillers dissolved because it had dramatically aged her.

'Stop doing it unless you absolutely need it. It makes you look so much older and blocks you lymphatic draining system causing pillow face!' she warned fans.
