Billy Ray Cyrus' ex Firerose reveals his 'strict rules' and details alleged 'domestic abuse' as she blasts him amid bitter divorce battle: 'He's an evil man'

Firerose opened up about her past relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus and revealed he had 'strict rules' for her when they were together.
The 36-year-old singer claimed in an interview with Page Six on Sunday that the Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker, 62, constantly screamed at her and made her feel like a 'prisoner' in their Tennessee home during their marriage.
The Australian singer also alleged to the publication that Cyrus was an 'evil man' and detailed her own claims of domestic abuse during the two years they were together - seven months of which they spent married.
After he claimed she had 'physically, emotionally and verbally abused him,' Fierose accused the singer of 'isolating' her from her friends and family and said that he had attempted to control her by implementing a set of 'rules' for her to follow.
'Billy had very strict rules,' she elaborated. 'I didn't have a car. I was only allowed to go to the local chiropractor and allowed once a month to get my nails done.'

Firerose — an Australian singer whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges — called it 'systemic isolation' and added: 'I couldn't find the courage to leave.'
She also claimed that her friends and family were banned from visiting her at home.
Cyrus' estranged wife added: 'If I had to send a text, I had to read it out to him for permission. It was the same for email.'
In court documents filed in Tennessee last week, Cyrus denied Fierose's 'mindboggling' allegations of abuse, claiming that she had in fact abused him during the marriage - and alleging that she was only ever after his money.
He also denied 'abandoning her' on May 23 when he filed for divorce - on the same day her double mastectomy was scheduled.
She previously said he kicked her out of their Tennessee home on the same day she was scheduled to undergo a double mastectomy.
She explained that she had recently been diagnosed with the BRCA1 gene mutation and faces a high risk of developing breast cancer.
However, she was unable to get the surgery.

She claimed he had very 'strict rules' for her while they were living together and accused him of 'systemic isolation'
'When Billy decided to discard me it was [in] a brutal way,' she shared. 'I would never treat another human being so cruelly.'
Since then, the former couple have been entangled in a bitter legal battle, which she called 'excruciatingly painful.'
'This is a smear campaign by the person I was deeply in love with for four years and in a relationship with and who has decided to wage full blown war against me,' she said.
Firerose also claimed the amount of stress he put on her caused her to pass out two days before their wedding last October.
She said that at that time, she was taken to the hospital shortly before they were set to tie the knot.
Firerose also claimed that Cyrus would give her the silent treatment for hours or days at a time.
As a result, she said she 'withdrew' and became 'afraid to talk.'
She also told the outlet about how their relationship overlapped with his former marriage to Tish Cyrus, which she claimed to not have any knowledge of as he told her he had already filed for divorce.

The pair previously met at a Hollywood studio in 2010 when she was 22 and he was 48.

However, he reportedly told her that they were 'soulmates' and would have a love story for the ages even though they hardly stayed in touch over the years before rekindling their friendship.

'Every day, he told me, "I'm getting divorced" but he said it was complicated because of the kids, and they had been married for so long. I just accepted everything he told me to be true.'
She said they began dating prior to when they released their duet A New Day in 2021 but he told her to not talk about their relationship in public.
She also said she was surprised when Tish filed for divorce in April 2022 since she thought he had already done so.

She also added: 'There is no relationship that Billy has that is not affected by his narcissism.'
However, the pair went on to get engaged in August 2022.
After their separation, Firerose also said she lost the agents that she shared with her husband, who has also accused her of fraudulently using credit cards they shared.
Shortly afterwards, she said she moved from Los Angeles to live with him in Tennessee. As a result, she claimed she lost hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of professional work opportunities, including a role in a Hallmark movie.
This comes shortly after one of Cyrus' divorce-related court filings alleged publicized a note Firerose allegedly left him after leaving the home they previously shared.
In the letter seeking reconciliation, she reportedly wrote that she was 'so sorry' and asked for 'a chance to make this right.'
Firerose did not deny writing the note and told Page Six: 'He's attempting to use my loving notes as proof that he could not have been abusing me because I love him.
'But it's because you love them that you tolerate this behavior.'
'I think he will use every single thing against me,' she added, after mentioning she experienced some 'very dark years' in her 20s that led her to becoming sober.
She suggested he had full knowledge of that part of her past and would weaponize it against her in their ongoing divorce battle.
'He's an evil man,' she continued.

She also addressed his accusations after he claimed she lied about her identity
One of the singer's close friends, who is a stylist, also told the outlet: 'It felt like Firerose was in a prison that she didn't sign up for.'
Another one of her friends, who works in the mental health space, also told Page Six: 'I'm one of the only friends who was aware of the verbal, emotional and psychological abuse Firerose has endured by Billy, as she was completely isolated and afraid of sharing what she was going through with others. As a victim of abuse myself, she felt comfortable confiding in me of her experiences and I could tell she was becoming worn down.'
Firerose also addressed accusations the father of Miley Cyrus made against her in a motion filed earlier in June.
Cyrus previously alleged Firerose knowingly committed fraud 'with the sole intention of inducing [him] into a marriage to obtain the name "Cyrus" under the belief that it would help her fledgling music career.'
In the same filing, the Hannah Montana alum also claimed Firerose lied about having been married before.
He also claimed she lied about her identity — using her married name instead of Hodges on their marriage license and listing her aunt and uncle as her parents.
She explained she was raised by her aunt and uncle and also told the outlet that she had been married once before when she was 21, adding their divorce was amicable.
She said she tried 'numerous times' to tell Cyrus about her previous relationships but he opted out as he didn't want to know.
Firerose told the outlet that since their separation, she is starting to feel better and 'brighter' and is now staying with a friend in Tenneessee. For that reason, she wanted to 'speak out' about domestic abuse

'I don't think I have it — but I have an obligation,' she added. 'If I can't use my public platform, then what chance does anybody have?'
