Boston-based software company Creatio has secured $200 million at a $1.2 billion valuation.

Founded in 2014, Creatio is a vendor for no-code platforms that allow companies to access and create applications and workflows more efficiently through its platform.

The company sells a variety of applications, from app design platforms to customer relationship management (CRM) tools, to clients.

"The no-code platform allows clients to deploy a platform and copilot very quickly," Creatio CEO Katherine Kostereva told Business Insider.

Creatio serves midsize to large enterprises, as they often have more complex processes and workflows, said Kostereva. "When they want to automate this, they need to do it quickly — and C-Level executives want to automate a lot of these actions."

Creatio charges its clients a subscription fee, and its partners automate these processes for them. The company has around 750 partners, and its clients include large multinational companies in sectors such as retail, telecoms, pharma, and banking. They include joinery company Howdens and Japanese communications company Oki.

Creatio's mammoth raise follows a tougher funding environment for growth-stage startups in 2023. Kostereva said raising the round was "easy," adding that Creatio had established a name for itself as an industry leader.

Earlier this year, research platform Forrester called the startup a "leading option for enterprises that want well-governed citizen development and superior automation at scale."

Sapphire Ventures led the round, with participation from StepStone Group and current investors Volition Capital and Horizon Capital.

The company had previously been bootstrapped for around seven years before cinching $68 million in funding in 2021.

With the latest funding, Creatio will double down on its AI-assisted development and copilot capabilities, and expand the growth of its partner channels and team.
