Think of this as a universal buttermilk ranch dressing that you could use to dunk your veggies or onion rings or drizzle onto your pizza.

  • Not really close to any ranch dressing I have had. Could it be that sour cream is necessary? (I used full-fat Greek yogurt). I didn't taste very much more than greek yogurt and garlic. It was also on the thin side and maybe that's because I used Kate's buttermilk, which is less fatty. I will be looking for another ranch dressing recipe.

  • I've made the BA ranch dressing so many times I finally had to buy a subscription because I (so stupidly) kept forgetting to write it down and I always ran out of free recipes each month. It's worth it though.

  • Made as is, this recipe is bland and flavorless with way too much of the mayonnaise coming through. I had to doctor it with tons more lemon juice, some more of the dried spices, and some more yogurt to bring out the tang and hide the mayo.

  • I just made this for tonight's Christmas Eve party. You are correct - it doesn't taste like Hidden Valley Ranch - it's better and much healthier and has NO MSG of any kind in it - which is great since I am highly allergic to that additive. Thanks for posting this.

  • If you're looking for a recipe that tastes like Hidden Valley, this isn't it but I thought this was delicious and even better than some store-bought dressing.
