Avid Bookshop opened its second location in fall of 2016 in the heart of the Five Points neighborhood in Athens, Georgia. The store is slightly larger than our original shop on Prince, and we have a higher percentage of gift items for sale including journals, calendars, pens, pencils, stationery, stickers, calendars, planners, and so much more.

Parking

  • Spots in front of the shop are available for visits to Avid Bookshop, J. Christopher's, Condor Chocolates, and Bar Bruno. They tend to open up after 2:00 PM.

  • Park on Milledge Circle after 5pm between the permit signs during weekdays. Unlimited parking on weekends. You'll be a block from the shop and can walk around the back of the shop through the apartment tenant parking lot.

  • Park at the fire station for free public parking for up to 2 hours (then walk to any Five Point shops you want!)

Things To Do in Athens

  • Take a walk around the University of Georgia's historic North Campus within walking distance of Athens's downtown.

  • Visit the Georgia Museum of Art with a permanent collection and special exhibits.

  • Contemplate the Tree That Owns Itself.

  • Visit the Georgia State Botanical Gardens, featuring a new Kid's Garden and several trails of varying length.

Places to Eat & Drink Nearby

  • Bar Bruno - Our neighbor. An Italian inspired bar and cafe with light snacks. A great place to read your new book.

  • Condor Chocolates - Our neighbor. Serves coffee and chocolates. Truffles make a great pair for an Avid gift card. Try the cacao cold brew.

  • Cali-N-Tito's - Delicious Latin American food from Cuba, Peru, and the Caribbean at a funky location with a lot of outdoor flair.

  • Jittery Joe's - An Athens chain of coffee shops and roaster of our own blend. Great meeting spot.

  • Daily Co-Op - Our one time neighbor, now in a new location on Prince Ave.. Try out their deli with tasty sandwiches.
