I used it on metal siding, wood siding and vinyl siding, and it cleaned all three, with no damage. In some spots I did need to also scrub to get everything off, but it was spots instead of the whole wall.
The Details
----------------
I have a hundred year old farm house, with old wood siding, and I'm very careful on how I clean them. It also has Vinal Siding from an add on done many years ago, and metal siding from the most recent addition. Some of the front and one side develops very noticeable mold/mildew (not sure if actually mold, but it looks like it).
So I sprayed this on and let it sit. I sprayed along the bottom first, with a pressure sprayer, then got in the latter and sprayed along the top. By the time I was done with the top, it was time to rinse the bottom. The job goes pretty quick, and on the whole it works pretty well. The areas with mold, needed to be scrubbed with a brush. A brush on a regular broom poll, and another on a 15' extension worked well for me.
I was hoping not to have to do any brushing, that it would all just rinse off, but no luck. I also had to scrub some areas that had this faint dark gray "algae" looking stuff.
The areas that didn't seem to have any growth came out nice and clean with just the spray and rinse.
It did clean the wood, vinyl, and metal all equally well, and didn’t damage or discolor anything.
In the end it seems to have worked, I didn't have to scrub the whole house, and the house looks nice and clean, but it's certainly not the case, where you just spray it on, rinse it off and your done.
The prior cleaner took off SOME of this stuff, but it didn't touch staining for example. Before I tried the Green Gobbler I had a little bit of the prior cleaner's mixture in my sprayer, so I wanted to use that up before I mixed up the new stuff. So I sprayed PART of the affected area to use as a comparison to the Green Gobbler, then hosed it down. As always, SOME of the algae came off, but parts that were stained remained stained. I then mixed up a batch of Green Gobbler to cover the areas I DIDN'T do with the old cleaner, then for good measure I went over the area done by the old cleaner also.
I was pleasantly surprised that even before rinsing I could see some of the old staining start to fade in the pretreated area, and also in the area I hadn't done before. By the time I was ready to rinse with water, almost all of the old staining was gone (a second application dissolved the rest of it!). Furthermore, the algae, even though it was pretty thick in spots, showed a remarkable improvement. It wasn't completely clear, but it was clear enough that you really couldn't see any schmutz from a distance of maybe 10 feet. Anyway, I LATER read on the product label that it's OK to brush the surface after applying the cleaner "if necessary". So next time that's what I will do on the areas that haven't been properly cleaned with the old cleaner before. I'm confident that will leave a like-new surface again! In the meantime, I'm very happy with the performance of Green Gobbler. This is now my NEW go-to patio cleaner!
