Definitely clears major clogged drains
As a tree hugger I always cringe at the feeling of using chemicals to clear out clogs but at the same time I can’t have clogged drains obviously. So I’ve been using Green Gobbler a while and this week it was put to the major test and passed with flying colors. Our basement shower full on flooded. Nothing was going down that drain. So I poured a packet of GG in the drain and waited the 20+ mins and used hot water to flush it down. Nada. Tried another pack and waited again. Nada. Then I remembered they came with the little drain clog sticks (this is KEY) and started working with that. After a couple of minutes of fishing wow the mother load just slid out out - almost 18 inches long and 1.5 inches wide of icky gross hair and who knows what that had been building up for who knows how long loosened up by GG! Ew! If anyone does not believe in hair traps to cover their drains they should now (and I have lectured the fam on keeping ours on going forward!). To make sure this was not a fluke I tried this same process on another shower upstairs which was not clogged and with only one packet and sure enough more ew gross stuff pulled out. A great product that does the job and doesn’t make you feel guilty about chemicals in the drain and environment.

My washer drain that goes into the wall against the house overflowed and left water all over the cement garage floor. Simultaneously, the toilet on the other side of the wall (on the same sewer line) began to clog. I was worried the sewer pipes were failing—a significant problem in my neighborhood. First, I used a hand-held drain auger and it brought up what looked like business cards I’d apparently forgotten in a pocket. But still the drain overflowed, so I ordered this product out of desperation. While waiting for delivery, I had to babysit my washing machine for several days and turn it off and on as not to let the drain spill over. I ended up using all the packets and boiling lots of water but it did the job! The powder is easy to get into the wall drain without disconnecting the drain hose. I also bought Green Gobbler liquid—another great product—for the toilet.

That I did this twice in a day is on me, as I cannot remove the drain stopper in my bathroom sink. That made getting the product into the drain difficult. So, the first attempt did not go well. I've actually seen the interior of these pipes and they are gunked up to the point where there is barely a point for the water to exit.

So when the kitchen sink backed up, I moved cleaning to the alternate sink and just worked on unclogging the sink. According to the manufacturers - it takes up to two weeks for the application to work.

Forget that, I let it work for 48 hours and then re-applied. Both waiting and adding a fresh application were helpful but the sink would barely drain. So I continued adding fresh applications every 48 hours or so. Finally on the fourth application the drain started running clearly..

My experience with previous ancient pipes and bacterial treatments say it feels like you're pouring money down the drain. But with persistence, your drains will clear and bacteria shouldn't harm your pipes unlike some of the more ferocious chemical drain cleaners. Perform regular maintenance and aged creaky pipes will perform flawlessly.

If you can afford to wait two full weeks (without flushing out the pipes) before re-application, it shouldn't require so many treatments but I've never had the patience. Which is why I prefer to buy 3-4 times more treatments than what the instructions state. Luckily, this kit has 5 applications plus some handy hair decloggers. Just about right to take care of one major clog.

If this is all too much for you, get the chemical and remove the clog (I've found chemicals are only mildly faster than bacterial methods). Flush the heck out of the pipes then treat with bacteria for the mop up. Continue with bacterial treatment for maintenance.

This worked really well for our sink and shower that was backed up and slowly draining. The vinegar and baking soda trick wasn't working for me. Had to use multiple packs to make it work.

The only reason I give it 3 stars is our toilet had a terrible sewage odor and this made it worse! Later we ended up hiring a plumber and turns out half the wax ring was gone.

I ordered Green Gobbler at 5 am and it was delivered on my doorstep by 10 am (same day)
I read reviews watched You Tube videos and many had negative reviews, but I thought well, what have I got to lose? I had a slow draining bathtub drain, I used a snake thingy, with no luck, I used Liquid Draino.. no results, I used a plunger and was able to remove some hair.
Then, I put in the Green Gobbler waited 45 minutes, added boiling water and Presto! No more clogged drain. I now have 4 packets left for future use. I am very happy with my results.

I've used Green Gobbler for a few years now and haven't gone back to any other drain cleaner since. Between this powder and the stick form (which is for upkeep and odour control rather than drain clearing), I've been issue-free since I started using these.

I am really sensitive to scents, but these do not trigger any of the reactions that perfume can cause. When you first pour the powder into the drain, you'll probably get a funky smell, almost like bad eggs, but that's just the enzymes working on all the bio matter gunk. It will go away when you rinse the drain.

It's best to rinse with hot water. I usually boil the kettle, give the water a minute to cool, then use that to rinse. It leaves behind pipes that look and act brand new! Amazing stuff. I've used it with my sinks, tub, toilet, and the drain for the washing machine. A friend of mine even used it with a seriously gross dishwasher left by a tenant, and she said it's now like brand new. No, I'm not being paid by Green Gobbler! This is just great stuff!

I will add, for things like the toilet and the washing machine drain, I've found it's best to let the powder sit for 24 hours if at all possible, or at least over night. Safe for metal and PVC.

My kitchen sink had been running slow for a while, I used the pre-mixed liquid and it only got better for a while for a few days and then it's slow again. So this time, I decided to give the powder packages a try, because why not. Poured 2 packages down the drain, added in some boiling hot water and left it overnight. The next morning, poured a huge pot of boiling water down the drain and wow it had never drained that fast before. The smell was super nasty at first, but that's how I knew it worked and dissolved all the nasty gunk inside the drain. I think the powder worked so well was because it stayed in the drain longer, thus dissolved more gunk, as opposed to going straight through in the blink of an eye and doing nothing. I will only use this from now on for sure.
