With our new challenges coming next week, it’s the perfect time to look back at what some of our innovators have achieved since joining the DIANA programme in January. Last month, Astrolight visited Danish frigate ‘Peter Willemoes’ to showcase their unjammable, undetectable and high-bandwidth communication technology – an important milestone in their mission to revolutionise communication in the maritime domain. Congratulations to the Astrolight team and a big thank you to Deep Tech Lab - Quantum for all their work to make it happen. #NATODIANA #WeareNATO

DIANA works with innovators across the Alliance to uncover and accelerate incredible technologies that make our lives better. We've profiled one of those companies, Goldilock, to share more about how DIANA's inaugural accelerator cohort are working to change the world. True to its name, Goldilock is innovating the next generation of cybersecurity technologies that are 'just right'. Read more at the link below about how they are changing the way we keep data safe. Is your company developing innovative technological solutions to complex problems affecting global peace, security and resilience? Our next round of challenges will launch ✨next week✨ covering five focus areas. This is your opportunity to join next year's innovator cohort, so follow us here on LinkedIn for updates. With the launch of our latest challenges to innovators coming very soon, our MD Deeph Chana has today been explaining DIANA's purpose and priorities to the audience at Eurosatory in Paris. Crucial, as ever, is understanding the nature of dual-use technologies, their role in the wider ecosystem and the importance of 'partnering for innovation' (as the screen, on what may be the world's biggest tablet, says). Time to think and do differently... #NATODIANA #WeareNATO

Last week, DIANA's Managing Director Deeph Chana PhD, Chief Commercial Officer Adrian Dan and General Counsel Tom Dallas McSorley visited Menlo Park, California to explore a new concept, the Allied Capital Community. This unique investment community would contribute to a growing Alliance-wide ecosystem building the foundations for rapid, leading-edge deep technologies. As we get ready to open up applications for our next round of challenges, we also want to ensure there is a growing pool of available capital for dual-use innovators as they navigate an increasingly risk-averse capital market. Read more about #venturecapital #investment and why DIANA's #dualuse focus is essential in this Medium article by Adrian Dan. #NATOinnovation #innovation #startups #deeptech https://lnkd.in/ghbybQmz

📢 Calling all innovators! 📢 In two weeks' time, DIANA will share our second call for innovative technology companies working on solutions that could change the world. Last year, we heard from more than 1300 innovators with ground-breaking deep technologies across three dual-use Challenges. 44 companies joined our pilot cohort, accelerating their businesses while increasing their networks across the Alliance. Check out what a few of our innovators had to say about DIANA in the video below: Water Linked VanWyn Inc. IONATE Astrolight GaltTec REVOBEAM More information: ➡ The new challenges will be posted the first week of July on our website and here on LinkedIn. ➡ This year, the call will cover five Challenges, including similar themes to last year as well as two new dual-use focal areas. ➡ If you submitted last year but were unsuccessful, we encourage you to try again. ➡ You will have approximately six weeks to complete your initial applications, which will include a quad chart and short proposal. With the countdown begun, we hope you consider joining us to tackle some of the world's most complex and pressing technological challenges. Together, we can help create a more peaceful and resilient global future! https://lnkd.in/gdWM-w-3

🚀 Over the last 24hrs NATO DIANA together with the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) have been in Menlo Park, CA convening the very first meeting to socialise thinking on establishing a unique investment community to facilitate the rapid and efficient exposure of dual-use tech #startups to capital, across the Alliance: 📣 An Allied Capital Community (ACC) is in the making. A big thank you to the select group who participated and provided excellent food for thought as we work to stand-up this initiative in the coming months. Watch this space 👁... DIANA visited Halifax, Canada this week to experience the booming innovation ecosystem that will soon host our North American regional office. Managing Director Deeph Chana PhD and Communications Director Heather Desserud spoke at Ocean Technology Council of Nova Scotia (OTCNS)'s Home to Overseas conference, with a panel exploring the benefits and cautions for dual use technology development. We had the great privilege to tour one of Canada's future DIANA accelerator sites at COVE, and learn about supply chain innovation taking place at The PIER at the Seaport. We met innovators from across the region who are building and selling their tech here and around the world, and saw tech being demonstrated and deployed at COVE's popular annual Demo Day. DIANA also met with key players from across the region's innovation network at Volta, and discussed how DIANA's presence can benefit (and benefit from) Atlantic Canada. Finally, at Halifax Partnership's Community Index launch, we learned how the region is growing and coping with challenging economic trends. This was a busy week with events like SailGP, Atlantic Venture Forum and Green Marine's GreenTech 2024 bringing thousands of technologists, practitioners and visitors to the region. We're looking forward to becoming part of this vibrant community. "Farewell to Nova Scotia" -- until next time!
