Kampus Politechniki Gdańskiej zostanie pierwszym na świecie „Living Labem” NATO DIANA – czyli miejscem służącym ekspozycji najnowszych technologii i wynalazków sektora obronnego, opracowywanych przez naukowców i wojskowych z 32 krajów należących do Sojuszu w ramach programu #NATODIANA. Co więcej, w programie tym znalazły się również anteny inteligentne opracowane przez naukowców PG i komercjalizowane przez spółkę REVOBEAM. Politechniczny „Living Lab” umożliwi utworzenie stałych instalacji dla technologii i konstrukcji, na czym skorzysta zarówno sektor obronny, jak również firmy cywilne, np. z branży morskiej. Każda instalacja będzie prezentowana przez wykwalifikowany personel i zostanie przygotowana tak, aby odzwierciedlała praktyczny scenariusz użytkownika końcowego. Wszystkie konstrukcje będą całodobowo chronione i szeroko dostępne dla przyszłych gości ze wszystkich krajów sojuszniczych NATO oraz Ukrainy. Pierwsze konstrukcje pojawią się na kampusie prawdopodobnie już w sierpniu, a porozumienie ws. utworzenia „Living Labu” na PG podpisały dziś władze Politechniki Gdańskiej i Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A.– Stoczni Wojennej. Sygnatariuszami porozumienia są prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rektor PG oraz Paweł Lulewicz, prezes zarządu PGZ Stoczni Wojennej. – Ta umowa jest dla nas potwierdzeniem, że Politechnika Gdańska jest ważnym partnerem władz państwowych w sektorze obronności i bezpieczeństwa Polski – mówił prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rektor PG. – Jesteśmy dumni, że to właśnie na PG powstanie pierwszy polski „Living Lab” programu NATO DIANA. Umożliwi to Polskim Siłom Zbrojnym oraz ich odpowiednikom z innych krajów NATO szybką ocenę i zakup najbardziej obiecujących rozwiązań od innowatorów z programu DIANA. Głównym zadaniem stworzonego w 2023 r. przez NATO programu DIANA jest połączenie naukowców i zespołów badawczych działających w ramach start-upów i pracujących nad nowatorskimi rozwiązaniami z obszaru tzw. głębokich technologii (ang. deep tech) - z jednostkami sektora cywilnego i obronnego. W grupie znajdują się 32 kraje należące do Sojuszu, w tym Polska. Jej udział w akceleratorze koordynuje Departament Innowacji Ministerstwa Obrony. Efektem pierwszych kilkunastu miesięcy działania programu NATO DIANA jest wyłonienie i akceleracja 44 najlepszych start-up-ów na świecie, które przez ostatnie pół roku opracowały innowacyjne rozwiązania dual-use w obszarach wskazanych przez program. W "Living Lab" będzie można zobaczyć rozwiązania m.in. takich firm, jak: IceWind GIM Robotics REVOBEAM Dronetag Goldilock Lobster Robotics Inicjatorem utworzenia Living Labu na Politechnice Gdańskiej jest prof.
