Andrew is curious... What would you include in the table of contents for this book (see his post below)?
Let's have a little fun to end the week... I've had several conversations over the past few weeks where I've been asked essentially the same question in a variety of ways: "What are the things you see folks working in rural economic development / entrepreneurship do that actually PREVENT them from unleashing the full entrepreneurial potential of their community (...or region, province / state, country, etc.), despite their good intentions and hard work?" In other words, what are the things that some communities do (intentionally or unintentionally) that are actually slowing them down and holding them back? It reminded me of Doug's book, "13 Ways To Kill Your Community". (SIDE NOTE: If you've never read it, do yourself a favour and pick up a copy; if you've spent any amount of time working in rural economic development, it is a great 'tongue-in-cheek' look a some things you'll recognize 😉). Some examples from the table of contents are... Don't Have Quality Water Ignore Your Youth Don't Cooperate Don't Paint Live In The Past I made me wonder... If we were to write a similar book titled "13 (or 50??) Ways To Squash The Full Entrepreneurial Potential of Your Community", what would our table of contents include? What would be some of the things you've experienced and/or witnessed through your work in rural places that actually work AGAINST communities unleashing their full entrepreneurial potential? Let's keep it general and kind :) 13 Ways Inc. Link To Book: https://lnkd.in/eqrR-cy2
