📢 NEW LAUNCH | Enabling framework conditions (EFCs) are vital for scaling national and subnational climate finance. They provide regulatory clarity, enhance institutional capacity, mitigate investment risks, promote stakeholder engagement, and improve access to finance, thus supporting long-term sustainability. The CCFLA/#UrbanAct Assessment Tool is designed to help governments improve their access to climate finance by evaluating their enabling framework conditions (EFCs). 🔗 Learn more about the tools and download, here: https://bit.ly/EFCs Further information is also available at United Nations ESCAP’s Inclusive, Low Carbon, Resilient, Smart and Sustainable Cities: https://lnkd.in/gFiNgqEX #UrbanAct #UrbanClimateFinance #NetZeroCities #EFCs #EnablingFrameworkConditions #SustainableCities #GreenGrowth #ClimateAction #MultiLevelClimateAction Jessie Press-Williams Priscilla Negreiros Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH International Climate Initiative Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) TU Dortmund University University of Stuttgart

Delighted to share my recent participation at the Energy Finance Academy organized by C40 Cities, where I presented financing mechanisms for net zero carbon buildings and introduced Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA) database of instruments. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with city officials from across Southeast Asia, focusing on sustainable urban solutions for the building sector. Let's continue to drive the transition to energy-efficient cities! #C40 #ClimatePolicyInitiative #CCFLA #EnergyFinance #SustainableCities #PublicBuildings #SoutheastAsia #UrbanDevelopment #GreenFinance

🏙️🌿 How can cities decarbonize the building sector? Buildings are key to a net-zero future, accounting for 37% of global energy-related GHG emissions. They also protect against extreme weather. This Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA) report uses network analysis to uncover how cities can overcome investment barriers and rapidly transition to net-zero buildings by phasing out fossil-fuel-based appliances and adopting energy efficiency codes. 🔍 Read the study: https://lnkd.in/d-aXFFqf #netzero #climatechange #climatefinance #climateresilientcities #climateaction

Join CCFLA's Priscilla Negreiros, Jessie Press-Williams and other sector experts for the launch of the Urban-Act National and Subnational Assessment Tools, and learn from countries and cities about their efforts to create the ideal conditions for urban climate finance. Sustainable multi-level financing for urban climate action hinges on having strong enabling framework conditions (EFCs) in place. These EFCs ensure regulatory clarity, bolster institutional capacity, reduce investment risks, encourage stakeholder engagement, and enhance access to finance for lasting sustainability. 📅 Wednesday 31 June 2024 🕓 15:00 - 16:00 (Bangkok time, GMT+7) ↘ Register here: https://lnkd.in/gAHa6uM4
Join the next #UrbanAct webinar! ⬇ "Assessing Climate Finance Enabling Environments for Cities: Launch of New Tools from Urban-Act and the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance". How can cities and countries create conducive environments for urban climate finance, and unlock the potential of national and subnational entities to drive urban climate action and localise global climate and sustainability goals? Join us to launch the Urban-Act National and Subnational Assessment Tools, and to hear from countries and cities on their potential to create the right conditions for urban climate finance. Multi-level financing for urban climate action cannot happen sustainably without the appropriate enabling framework conditions (EFCs) in place which provide regulatory clarity, strengthen institutional capacity, mitigate investment risks, promote stakeholder engagement, and improve access to finance for long-term sustainability.
