Mumbai University CDOE exams postponed due to heavy rains: Check the revised schedule here

Due to severe rainfall in Maharashtra, the University of Mumbai has rescheduled the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) exams. Originally planned for July 9, the exams will now take place on July 18 and 20.
The postponed exams include FYBA and FY BCom (semester-1), FY BSc information technology (semester 2), FY (BAF) (semester 1), FYBSc Computer Science (semester 2) and MMS semester 2 exam.Check the revised schedule here.
When announcing the new dates, CDOE Mumbai University confirmed that the exam venue will remain unchanged. Previously, on Monday, CDOE rescheduled the exams that were originally planned for July 8. “This is to inform you that due to the heavy rains, all the exams of CDOE (formerly IDOL) scheduled on 8th July 2024 in the first half, i.e., from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, have been postponed,” reads the official notice. These exams will now be held on July 13, from 11 am to 2 pm. Here is the official notice.
Heavy Rain Alert in Mumbai
In light of the heavy showers, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red alert for various regions in Mumbai. However, the IMD has downgraded the red alert in Mumbai to a yellow alert, which will remain effective until Wednesday morning. According to the weather department, heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of the city today. Although no warning is in place for Mumbai on Wednesday, a yellow alert will be issued again from Thursday to Saturday, suggest media reports.
In Raigad, an orange alert has been issued and will last until tomorrow morning. In Thane, a yellow alert has been declared and will remain in effect until the end of the week.
Schools, colleges shut due to heavy rain forecast
In the wake of the heavy rainfall forecast, Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase has declared that all schools up to class 12 will remain closed today to prevent any potential emergencies. However, school staff, including principals, teachers, and non-teaching personnel, are required to report during office hours to assist with disaster management efforts led by the local administration.

This closure impacts primary and secondary schools, as well as junior and senior colleges. Notifications regarding the closures have been issued by civic bodies including the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, TMC, and authorities in Panvel and Navi Mumbai. Both government and private institutions are shut as a precautionary measure in response to the heavy rainfall warning from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
