Reliance Jio launches new gadget: Price, features and other details

Reliance Jio has launched a new tracking device called the JioTag Air. Successor to last year’s JioTag, it comes with a host of new features. Unlike JioTag that worked only with the JioThings app, the JioTag Air is compatible with Apple Find My feature as well. Here are the details about Jio's new tracing device

JioTag Air is a sleek asset tracker that allows you to find and track your valuables like keys, ID cards, wallets, purses, luggages, pets and other such items prone to misplacing and losing.It works with both iOS and Android devices. It is compatible with iPhones running iOS14 and above, and Android 9 and above.
It is equipped with Bluetooth version 5.3 for wireless device tracking. The device has a built-in speaker and can be used to play loud sound of 90-120 db to locate lost items. As mentioned above, it works with both Apple Find My network and the JioThings app. However, a user can choose only one app at a time.
Android users can pair with JioThings app and track the tagged item on this app itself. For Apple Users, once paired with Apple Find My app, JioTag Air sends continuous Bluetooth signals that can be detected by nearby devices in the Find My network like iPhones, iPads and Macs. These devices send the location of the JioTag Air to iCloud. Apple users can share tagged items on Apple Find My app with other Apple users. In addition, they can go to Apple’s Find My app and locate the item connected with the JioAirTag on map. Enabling Lost Mode will send automatic notifications to the paired Apple device when the lost item is detected in the Apple Find My network.

JioTag Air is listed on the company’s website with a price of Rs 2,999 . But it can be purchased at Rs 1,499. It will be available in Blue, Red and Grey colour variants. Some of the bank offers listed on the site include cashback on payments using Paytm, CredUPI and select credit cards.
JioAir Tag will also be available for purchase via JioMart, Reliance Digital and Amazon.
