Let this milestone encourage us all to strive for excellence and innovation in our respective fields.

    Founder & CEO, Vivo Surgical

It is with great pride and immense joy for me to announce that Vivo Surgical has been honoured as a winner of the prestigious World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO Global Awards for 2024! Much gratitude to the WIPO, Director General Daren Tang, esteemed members of the jury (Bukhary Essam,Dr. د. عصام بخاري, Philippe DEWOST👨🏻💻, Songgen Dong, Sera EUN, Karoli Hindriks, Zanele Mavuso Mbatha, Lally Rementilla, CPA, CMA), as well as the wonderful WIPO Global Awards team (Sylvie Forbin, Marcelo Di Pietro, Victoria Smaniotto-Piatti, Barbara Hemmerle) for organising a super insightful week of IP-related workshops with our expert mentors (Matthew Bryan, Olivier Pierre, Jonah Asher, Dr. Ulrike Till, Omer Hiziroglu, CLP, Michael Kos, Allison Mages, Ben Hoelzl, Marcelo Grabois). Having been chosen as one of the final winners out of over 660 companies from 107 countries worldwide is truly a rare honour and accolade. Most importantly, it is a testament to the groundbreaking work of the entire Vivo Surgical team and the immense impact that we shall be achieving with our innovative medical device portfolio. Vivo Surgical is especially proud to be the flying the Singapore flag 🇸🇬 high on the global stage as the only Singaporean company represented, and I happily receive the winners’ trophy on behalf of not just our team, but for all inventors and innovators from Singapore as well. I certainly look forward to many more healthcare industry friends on the WIPO stage in the years to come! What were my key takeaways for this WIPO Global Awards week? • The best source of financing is a customer • Company leaders have to be effective content creators • Design sells • GenAI tools - approach with caution • IP valuation perhaps best conducted when the IP generates revenue • Drag out any possible "Nos" from big strategics as much as possible • The smartest person in the room is the room • Everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die Official WIPO Press Room Article: https://lnkd.in/gEAZE9zu #intellectualproperty #ip #ipstrategy #intangibleassets #wipo #wipoglobalawards

This event's success was a testament to the dedication of our organising committee and valued partners. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Minister for Defence Dr. Ng Eng Hen for his inspiring SAF Day speech. We were also privileged to have Chief of Defence Force VADM Aaron Beng, Chief of Army MG David Neo, and Chief Armour Officer COL Lim Han Yong for gracing the event. Minister Ng Eng Hen, SMF President Mr. Lennon Tan and CEO Mr. Dennis Mark 麥榮良 touched on the continued importance of the SAF and National Service (NS), especially in today’s increasingly volatile geopolitical environment, as well as the enduring partnership between the SMF and the SAF in fostering a strong and resilient nation. They highlighted the crucial role of the manufacturing sector in supporting national defence and security, emphasising the need for continuous collaboration and innovation to meet evolving challenges. Dr Ng referenced the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's statement, "Without security, progress and economic development are impossible." This central message, conveyed to senior military commanders of the Singapore Armed Forces in 2012, remains relevant and significant today. As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Total Defence, today’s event served as a powerful reminder of the SAF’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding our nation. The SAF's dedication to protecting Singapore's sovereignty and security is a testament to the strength and resilience of our people. The SMF is proud to have played a part in organising this rededication ceremony, reaffirming our commitment to Total Defence. We remain steadfast in our support for the SAF and our shared mission to build a stronger, more secure Singapore. #WeSupportNS #SAFDay2024 #HormatSAF #TotalDefence #SMF #SAF #RededicationCeremony #SuntecSingapore #ThingsWeDoSMF
