  • We gave a creative brief to the People's Association communications team (instead of the other way round!) What went down during a recent content creation workshop hosted at our studio: 💭 Kai Yuan Ng shared insights from OGS on what makes a good story 🤳🏻 Adeline Tay gave a quick crash course on how to approach people and tips on making social media content 🏘️ Officers then had to put what they've learnt to practice, working in groups to create a TikTok video of interesting places and businesses around the estate Of course, there was some healthy competition to be voted as the winning group! Thank you again to the team from PA for the energizing session! #contentcreation #singapore #socialmedia #workshop #storytellingtips

  • Do find yourself working hard or hardly working? See a colleague #overworking? Do you find yourself saying: "wow, I wish I was more like them?" Well as it turns out you might want to think twice. Check this data story by @Ribbit.FYI to find out more of the perils of working hard.

Do you have a colleague who is #overworking? Our Boss works round the clock, and it's worrying. So last week, while he was away from his duties (not resting), we decided to dedicate a piece to him and everybody else who is also #overworked. For many Singaporeans, working overtime and through lunch breaks is more than common. Getting off work at 730PM instead of 6PM doesn't feel like a huge deal—that's how we've managed to clock 8.18 unpaid hours on average as a nation. But what's "normal" isn't always what's best. And certainly not for our health. So, how many hours have you worked this week? We hope it's just as many as you're being paid for, and far from being classified as a health hazard.

Behind every content piece, we unravel a beautiful story — so here’s sharing another piece that I hold very dear to me. I had the chance to be a part of this precious story featuring veteran actor and host Irene Ang and her mum, Mdm Tan for CNB DrugFreeSG Victims Remembrance Day Campaign. The whole experience made me reflect a lot…and beyond the life lessons I took away, I was reminded of the joy my job at Our Grandfather Story (OGS) brings me — having countless opportunities to interact and learn from people from all walks of life, of all ages. Topics like drug abuse & its impacts can be extremely hard to talk about, but the team at Unfold Asia (tags) presented this beautiful story —that highlighted the grave consequence and trauma behind it, while touching on the importance of forgiveness, kinship and reconciliation. Kudos to the amazing OGS team Pei Fang Goh Claire Chew Benjamin Neo! It was also a great joy to work with the team at Burson (Xing En Chua & team) and CNB who contributed to the success of this campaign, with more than 264k views and counting till date! Thank you for your great trust in our stories & team at OGS to share this raw, beautiful feature that took a lot of courage to talk about ❤️ Show your support for the full video here: https://lnkd.in/gWHq4dRz

As a fresh-faced intern, I always pictured media interviews as glamorous and highly structured affairs. However, my perspective shifted entirely a few weeks ago when I joined Cheryl and director Merilyn Cheong on my first shoot. We were preparing for an upcoming content piece (stay tuned!), featuring an interview with Felix Phang, Managing Director of Pasat Merdu and creator of the Roots and Routes Cultural Symposium, exploring his passion for intercultural music. I was pleasantly surprised by the relaxed atmosphere on shoot, where there was room for many spontaneous moments. I even made a new friend along the way. Overall, this was a great experience, special thanks to Felix Phang for allowing us into your studio, and the crew Merilyn Cheong Rochelle Tong Tay Jing Hui and Cheryl Pek for allowing me to tag along! That’s all for this time! Signing off, Amelia the Intern #interninsights #fliming

  • Are you having a bad day? Do you find it hard to put a finger to your feelings? Well you’re not alone! With some emotions being more intense than others, even differing from person to person. EDIT: the version of the wheel we referenced is from Geoffrey Roberts, who expanded on Gloria Willcox's original design. TIL that instead of 5 emotions, there might be a whole wheel of them. 😐 Psychologist Robert Plutchik was one of the first to devise an Emotion Wheel, from the understanding that core emotions can be experienced with different intensities - which actually meant that there were many more emotions than what we initially thought! Other scientists and professionals also recognised this, and that meant we got many different emotion wheels, including the one that we've referenced here today by Gloria Willcox. At the core of it, Plutchik's theory was composed of 10 key points, one of which was this: "Emotions served an adaptive role in helping organisms deal with key survival issues posed by the environment." Emotions are meant to be felt, not supressed! So the next time you feel something welling up, instead of trying to just pin it as something good, or something bad - try to find a name for it. And when you do that, you just might get to know yourself a little better in the process. #RibbitFYI #datavisualisation #emotions #insideout2

  • Is that lunch food coma hitting you particularly hard today? Well usually you'd take a nap (let's be honest we all do), but do you feel even worse after waking up? Well have no fear, @Ribbit.FYI has got you covered with tips on how to ✨nap✨ better. Thank us later.

Have you ever taken a work-day nap? If the answer is yes, you’re not alone—and it’s not a bad thing. A good nap can set you up for success, ready to tackle your remaining tasks—that is, if you do it right. Bad naps result in what’s known as “sleep inertia”, a fancy term for the terrible un-rested feeling that you get when you wake up. We were tired of feeling like crap, and so we researched the best methods for putting the “power” in your power nap. You’re welcome.

Who ever said that all presentations needed to be serious and formal? Meet the Business and Partnerships (B&P) team at UNFOLD Asia! We took a break from making creative proposals at work to having a #PowerpointParty for our recent team dinner. From travel adventures to family activities, we shared about what excited us in the recent months. And let's not forget about the pizzas – they disappeared faster than you can say "cheese!" 🍕✨ We ended the night with a game of Poetry for Neanderthals, let's just say that speaking in single syllables is harder than we all thought... Senior Creative at Our Grandfather Story (OGS)

"What if I don’t want to follow the Singaporean Dream? This has been on my mind for the past year as I navigate my life as a 24-turning-25-year-old. From conversations with many friends, most of whom are creatives and freelancers, there was a common agreement that they wanted to forge their own paths, not defined by the typical 'successful Singaporean' timeline. Every time I listened to them share their unique perspectives, I admired how they followed their own inner compass and pursued what truly ignited their souls. Writing this piece, I realised I, too, don’t really want to follow this ideal Singaporean Dream path. I want to create, explore, travel—the list goes on. I don’t chase the ‘ideal’ dreams. So there’s always the fear of whether I can survive in Singapore with this mindset, or what my future holds. I believe it’s possible. Through my many hobbies and passions, I’ve found a way to integrate them into my life. Even in my current job, I can merge many of my passions. Thank you for reading up to this point! I wanna know what are your thoughts? Do you resonate with this piece? Do you also diverge from this path? Feel free to check out the full post on Our Grandfather Story (OGS)’s Instagram page 🫶🏻 Thank you to Yuan Xi Mog for bringing my words and thoughts into a beautifully illustrated piece! You have so thoughtfully drawn out each emotion and detail and I believe it is what made this piece come alive even more! Link: https://lnkd.in/g8DXERHz
