Cost-Saving in #content and Marketing Production with #AI 🚀 Recently, I came across a viral ad Ministry of Finance (Singapore) that sparked quite a debate. Many viewers criticised its quality, attributing it to the use of AI. I believe it's not the use of AI that's the issue, but rather the quality of work produced. No offence to the designer—we understand the constraints of limited time, budget, and the oversimplification of the process. In our opinion, AI's best use at the moment is as a tool for creating concept visuals and moodboards. Here's how we leverage AI in our workflow: Step 1: We use an AI model trained in-house at ACREATIVEALT. While it has imperfections, it's excellent for serving as a concept visual and a guide for an actual photoshoot. Step 2: We then take a professional photo with a pro photographer and a proper camera, using the AI image as a guide. Step 3: Finally, we enhance the photo using Photoshop. In this example, we replaced the background with AI-generated art (this image was also being photoshopped). By integrating AI into our workflow, we simplify the process and accelerate ad generation, ensuring high-quality results. Wouldn’t it be great if the content and fan model on social platforms were to evolve in conjunction with how the content creators are putting out is increasingly evolving? Eugene Lee Yang of popular (and hilarious) YouTube creators The Try Guys is leaving the group and social-first content altogether, as reported in Tubefilter.  Eugene’s video is worth watching simply for his authenticity and vulnerability, as a beautiful example of how the relationship between fans and the people they now trust with their screen time has grown in ways that would never have been possible without the rise of increasingly premium-level content on social media.  But it’s also an important statement on how the entertainment landscape is increasingly changing in ways that may not best serve the creative ambitions of our favorite creative voices. More and more, we’re seeing creators leave the homes they’ve built on social platforms because, for various reasons, those homes are no longer the safest spaces to build their creative dreams.  I certainly don’t have all - or even perhaps any - of the answers on how to solve that, but the hope of creating room for today’s emerging voices to make the space for themselves and their fans to create the best version of their content is what motivated me to leave traditional media, and it’s what gets my butt in my desk chair every day. #EquityCrowdfunding #Creators #CreatorFinancing #CreatorEnterprise #CreatorMiddleClass #NewHollywood

The moderated panel discussion we held last week is the epitome of everything Poddster Singapore is about - bringing together brilliant minds for conversations that leave us all more informed, inspired and connected than before. We had the honour of hosting Lynn Dang, Vera Siertsema and Meenu Handa for an open conversation exploring what creating authentic content can do for a brand. My key takeaways: ✅ Authenticity and authentic content is VITAL for brands (corporate and personal) that want to stay relevant and relatable ✅ There’s no such thing as perfect. Authentic content is REAL, almost raw, and it’s driving engagement better than anything. And it’s FAR from perfect. ✅ You CAN create authentic and relevant content even with lots of red tape that many corporate content creators face. And, of course, THANK YOU to over 40 fantastic individuals who joined us to engage in this discussion. A true highlight for me was that we’ve spent over half of the session in the Q&A and discussion mode, which really shows the power of the community. Build them and they will come? Not in Singapore! "Where are the players? Free football hard courts mostly vacant as noise complaints, hot weather drive users to paid artificial turfs". And this is one of the reasons why we have one of the world's worst football teams and why we embrace opposition players like Son as we lose 7-0 at home! Our hard pitches should be buzzing with players at weekends and evenings when it's cooler but they're not. This is partly because when people have tried to play on some courts neighbours complain! Not exactly welcoming or encouraging. We have a poor football team and yet we stop people who want to play football from playing! I wonder if these two things are related?! 🙄😯🤣🤦‍♂️ It's all culture, other equally small countries qualify for football tournaments because their culture is set up for it. We're not. We'd rather our kids were inside studying or playing games on their mobile or endlessly scrolling on social media apps. That of course is also a link to diabetes which is growing in the young here. It's all related. I would love to see our new PM Wong encourage parents and kids to play more outdoor sports, especially football, because it has so many social, economic, national and health benefits but alas I think he'd rather focus on other things which don't mean as much to anyone and don't have as many positive effects. I recently accompanied my son to Singapore's only government-funded pre-tertiary arts school for auditions. I think the admission process is very similar to job applications. 🤔 🔶️ Have a portfolio. For example, if you are interested in applying for a job as a programmer, you should have some sample projects to show. 🔶️ Show whether you've won awards. Or at least participated in relevant competitions. 🔶️ Be ready to explain how you plan to grow in your chosen field/ job. (My kid said he couldn't articulate this well as he isn't even sure of himself yet. But grown-up job applicants should know better.) 🔶️ Make sure you have the actual skills you claim to. Interviews (at least for our company) typically will include hands-on exercises or role play to test your skills. 😉 Hiring managers, you are the most qualified to make final judgements about the candidates. So, spend more time talking with and assessing the candidates. 💡 Don't get bogged down with hiring admin. Today marks Earth Day, which spotlights environmental protection. And hoping to reduce the carbon footprint of having our having daily cuppa is Prefer | bean-free coffee, founded by Ding Jie Tan and Jake Berber. Prefer produces fresh coffee grounds and bottled cold brew coffee in decaf or caffeinated (using tea-derived caffeine) versions by upcycling old Gardenia bread, soybean pulp and spent barley grains from local breweries. The ingredients are blended and fermented before being roasted in an oven for aroma and flavour. Tan explains: “We modified beer tanks and optimised them for our processes, which allows us to control the quality and safety of our products. We can potentially replicate a range of coffee profiles from Ethiopian to Colombian beans.” More arabica than robusta in taste, the coffee has a distinct savoury edge that was pleasant in a fizzy drink like an espresso tonic but overpowered in an oat milk latte. The 48-hour manufacturing process is much shorter than the average of five years for coffee plants to bear fruit. Sip on this not so average cup of joe. ☕ #coffee #foodtech #entrepreneurship

Is this an example of how the legacy media fails to understand social media? Or is this an attempt to drive Internet traffic to certain content? According to BBC and other media, a propaganda song "Friendly Father", praising Kim Jong-un, dictator of North Korea, is a hit on TikTok. Apparently, the song is particularly popular among Generation Z users (that is those born in 1995 - 2010). It is also reported that TikTok users praise its great tune. Some find it similar to ABBA. Others comment that they cannot stop listening to it or that it deserves a Grammy. The song is praising the country's totalitarian leader, a mass murderer, responsible for the lives of misery and terror of 26 million people living in North Korea. My guess is that the whole story is more about a misunderstood irony of social media users towards weird content rather than a genuine TikTok trend. Who on TikTok would truly admire this? Does anyone find the tune 'catchy'? Who hears ABBA in it? Come on! To me, it sounds like a lobotomising nursery rhyme. If anything, it reminds me of early communist construction songs and also a bit of East German music in the 70s... Though, any Ein Kessel Buntes was far better than this. I would give the video zero for the artistic quality: dull arrangements, unremarkable singing performances, and video production at the level of a Photoshop beginner. The second possible explanation for the song's popularity is the media attention to it. With media headlines like these, even those who never heard of the song or those who despise this scumbag will click on the link. Out of curiosity, not because of the song's popularity. That is what generates a huge following. I find that even more awful than the terrible video itself. PS: If some people genuinely love the song, the North Korean propagandists are masters of their craft. They managed to ensure that watching two minutes of this masterpiece removed at least 20 points from the intelligence quotient of everyone who loved it...! PS 2: I am surprised that this megahit was created by artists of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea using capitalist Neumann U87 microphones (high-end and relatively expensive studio microphones). And towards the end, in the section with the guy at the mixer, I noticed he was wearing the SONY MDR-7506 headphones. Also from the dirty rotten West! Sorry, but that's not how you build communism, comrades of North Korea!!
