Yesterday, Blykalla hosted its SMR mingle at #Almedalen 🌺 With the help of good food, delicious drinks, and stunning views, we aimed to give the Swedish nuclear industry a few hours to recharge its own energy supply. ⚡ We celebrated the past year's progress within nuclear power in general, and SMRs in particular; a well-deserved break for a hard-working group of people. I am very happy to share that the NuProShip I project has received maximum of the available funding and can therefore move next year into the next stage - NuProShip II. The WP leaders in NuProShip II are César Hueso, Eirik Ovrum, Øivind Kåre Kjerstad, Luis Felipe Batista, Bjarne Pareliussen and Marianne Synnes Emblemsvåg. The consortium consists of Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) are IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture, DNV, Knutsen OAS, VARD, Norwegian Shipowners' Association (Norges Rederiforbund), CEFOR, Island Offshore, Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Wilhelmsen Ship Management, SinOceanic Shipping AS, OSM Thome, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Escola Superior Náutica Infante D. Henrique and Gallagher. Then, the consortium has mutual agreements with Ultra Safe Nuclear, Blykalla, SEMPRE.ai and one more undisclosed party. Exciting news! 🇪🇺 Blykalla joins the European Commission's SMR Alliance 🇪🇺 A couple of months ago, we were selected to join the EU's official SMR alliance, a new initiative to rapidly accelerate SMR development in the EU - and a potential game-changer for the European market! This week, the newly-formed SMR alliance held its 1st General Assembly in Brussels to finalize work structures and time plans. The alliance consists of several technical working groups to drive innovation, streamline regulatory processes, and ensure the rapid deployment of SMRs across Europe. We are happy to be one of the few parties representing advanced technologies, paving the way for a new era of energy production 🚀 More updates to come as we continue our engagement in this important group.
