Exciting News: I'm thrilled to share that Mifundo a #fintech company I advised as part of the European Innovation Council programme, is among the 68 innovative companies selected for funding by the EIC out of a staggering 969 applicants! 🌟 Mifundo is an Estonian company developing the first cross-border #AI and #data platform. Mifundo secured €2.5M grant funding from EIC Accelerator! We are incredibly proud to announce a major milestone for Mifundo! European Innovation Council (EIC) has decided to honor Mifundo with a grant of €2.5M plus equity investment from its prestigious EIC Accelerator program. This support is a testament to our mission to revolutionize the financial sector in Europe by enabling seamless cross-border credit data transfer. In total, EIC will invest 411 million euros in 68 companies that develop technology of strategic importance to Europe and have disruptive potential on a global scale. These were selected in a highly competitive process from nearly 1,000 candidates. Kaido Saar, CEO and Founder of Mifundo, stated, "With this funding, we plan to integrate more countries, advance our pan-European data model, and expand our data service coverage within the EU." I had the pleasure of attending the FINTECH BELGIUM event “The State of AI in FS: Meetup and Summer BBQ” last week. The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the report “Beyond The Hype: Belgian Financial Services Embrace AI.” This report showcased how Belgian financial institutions are moving beyond the initial excitement surrounding #AI and are now implementing practical, impactful #AI solutions to enhance their operations and customer experiences. I am proud to share that Mifundo was also featured in the report, highlighting our innovative cross-border credit data solutions and our commitment to leveraging AI to improve credit risk assessments and facilitate seamless financial transactions. The event also featured Dell Technologies and their advancements in the AI field. I particularly enjoyed the presentation by Belfius, which has reached impressive lengths in pushing the boundaries of how banks can leverage AI and large language models (#LLMs). It’s inspiring to see such progress, especially in an industry where the risk department often restricts the use of novel technologies. A special thank you to FINTECH BELGIUM for organizing such an insightful event and to all the industry leaders and innovators I had the pleasure of meeting.
