We regret to inform you that &Repeats journey have come to an end.💔 All the way leading up to this day we have had a strong hope that we could solve our financial situation and be able to continue our mission to create circularity in take away packaging and reduce single use waste. It has now unfortunately been clear to us that we are forced to take this difficult decision. We are eternally thankful to all the customers, users, partners, investors, ex-colleagues and others who supported and trusted us over the years, and sorry that this is how our story ends. The Repeat team is very proud of what we have achieved during this journey. To mention a few highlight we recycled over one million single use packagings, build a platform for circularity for take away-dining with over 120 000 user and launch our service in France and Singapore. Finally 🤩! On 24th April, the EU Parliament voted in favour of the Packaging Waste Regulation. More than 3.5 billion take-away disposable packaging will be replaced by reusable packaging from 2030 in the EU. 🇸🇪 Sweden is leading the way in reuse and the circular economy. A law came into force already in January 2024 requiring restaurants selling more than 150 takeaway food or drinks per day to offer a reusable packaging option to their customers. &Repeat is solving the 35billion pcs take-away packaging waste problem with Reuse + Recycling Reward. EU Trilogy found a consensus to reduce packaging waste in EU. in 2030, 10% of all take-away meals have to be sold in reusable packaging. 💚 Based on the LCA study, reusable take-away container is more sustainable option after 6 uses compared to single-use plastic container. Highlights of the LCA: 🌱 A reusable container used six times has lower GWP than one use single-use container 🌱 Customer behaviour and efficiency of washing facility can influence the results. 🌱 Requirements for customer transport strongly determine the GWP.
