The #1st_Greek_Forum_on_Cancer: Policy, Research & Funding Strategies was a resounding #success, thanks to the distinguished #speakers who shared their expertise and insights. Their contributions are pivotal in establishing the foundation for designing and implementing a robust National Cancer Plan.
We were honored by the presence of the Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Stella Kyriakides, who delivered an inspiring keynote speech.
The Minister of Health, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, outlined the agenda for developing a National Cancer Plan, stating that it will be finalised by the end of the year.
Additionally, the Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Marios Themistocleous, along with the General Secretaries of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Aris Angelis, Ms. Lilian Vildiridis, and Ms. Fofo Kalyva, demonstrated their unwavering support and recognition of the importance and urgency of implementing an effective strategy to support the national plan's development.
Many distinguished speakers from across Europe shared their perspectives, knowledge, and experience on establishing a more effective national model for cancer. JOAO BREDA, Tit Albreht, Matti Aapro, Marc Van den Bulcke, Giovanni Apolone, Prof. Andreas Charalambous, Christos Schizas, Richard Price, Tony O'Grady, Henrique Martins, Debora Fumagalli, MD PhD, Ioannis Vouldis, MSc, PhD, Zoi Kolitsi, Angela Spatharou, Andreani Odysseos, Nicolas Philippou, Ivaylo Petrov, Pietro Presti, MBA, PhD, Antonis Tryfonos enriched the discussions during ELLOK's 2-day #Forum.
Representatives of the public health authorities, research centers, academic institutions, healthcare professionals, representatives from the healthcare industry and digital technologies, and patient organizations engaged in fruitful dialogue.
On the #1st Greek Forum on Cancer innovative strides in #oncology were explored through presentations of the EU-funded projects #CCI4EU, CraNE Join Action, #JANE, and ECHoS | Establishing of Cancer Mission Hubs: Networks and Synergies, each contributing significant advancements in #cancer research.
A notable parallel session took place under the XpanDH Project, titled "XPanDH Community of Doers - Great Team: Harmonization of Tumor Board Documentation, Regarding EEHRxF.", which brought together a dedicated team committed to improving the harmonization of EEHRxF in Greece.
PwC Greece conducted a workshop titled "Getting Involved," where the available EU funding tools were presented by Iannis Voutsinos, along with practical tips on consortium creation and proposal writing.
