✨ Ka mahuta a Matariki i te pae, ka mahuta ō tātou tūmanako ki te tau. When Matariki rises above the horizon, our aspirations rise to the year ahead. ✨ Matariki is a time to come together with loved ones, enjoy kai and reflect on the year that passed 🌌 Our Araraurangi Air New Zealand whānau celebrated the start of Matariki by hosting a mini-festival with Māori and Pasifika stallholders selling kai, giftware and traditional herbal remedies, cultural performances including waiata and haka, and a speaker series to share its meaning and rituals. What are your aspirations for the new year? Mānawatia a Matariki #Matariki #Matariki2024

It’s been decade since we made history with the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner touching down in Auckland 🛬 🥳 “The Dreamliner was a crucial aircraft in the expansion of our network. Its design and fuel efficiency mean it’s the perfect aircraft for ultra long-haul travel. Because of the Dreamliner, we were able to expand our network in 2022 to include our flagship route to New York.” - Chief Customer and Sales Officer, Leanne Geraghty Next stop: the world-first Dreamliner retrofit! Cheers to many more years of soaring through the skies ✨ 🛫

If you’re a New Zealand Sign Language user, this update’s for you! We encourage our employees to use NZSL, recognising its importance as an official language of Aotearoa. Together with Deaf Aotearoa we developed a training module that gives our people the opportunity to learn 30 travel-related signs, which has been hugely popular with around 400 completing it. When travelling, look out for crew wearing our special NZSL supporter lapel pin. They’re looking forward to a kōrero with you. 💜 #NZSLWeek24

Behind every success story, there's a network of incredible individuals lifting us higher ✈️ Thyra Blaom, one of our captains, took a moment to express her gratitude onboard a recent flight. But it wasn't just any ordinary thank you. It was a heartfelt acknowledgment of her mum's unwavering support throughout her journey to the skies. He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata 💜 #AirNewZealand #WomenInAviation #People

We’ve ✍ our largest deal for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to date – 9 million litres for delivery before the end of 2024. Thank you Neste for working with us on our decarbonisation journey. 🤝 ✈ Our Chair Dame Therese Walsh: “SAF is currently the only solution to significantly reduce emissions from long haul flight, but it currently makes up less than 1% of the global fuel supply. For aviation to reach its net zero carbon emissions goals by 2050, the SAF industry will need to scale significantly. While the SAF supply is small compared with the airline’s overall fuel use, it demonstrates the growing cooperation between two like-minded organisations to advance the supply and use of SAF.”

Fire-fighter by day, cabin crew by flight 👩🚒✈️ Kate has been a fundamental part of our Air New Zealand whānau for 8 years. When she's not working on our turboprop fleet around the country, she’s a volunteer firefighter for Fire and Emergency NZ helping her local Mount Maunganui community. Now she’s embarking on a new adventure, studying to become a pilot, so she can one day take a seat in the flight deck of our ATR aircraft 💜 #AirNewZealand #People #Aviation
