Aker BP reports a strong second quarter. "We have completed another exceptionally strong quarter. With consistent and high production in both the first and second quarters, we have raised the mid-point of our production guidance for the year. We are producing at the industry's lowest costs and emissions per barrel, and our projects are advancing at pace and according to plan", summarizes Aker BP's CEO, Karl Johnny Hersvik. Drilling & Well Engineer at Aker BP ASA

Hey there! I would like to share some highlights of my journey at Aker BP ASA where I started as a graduate in January 2021. To say it has been easy, would not be true, but it was not the goal either. We grow, both professionally and personally, as we face challenges. So I would rather call it exciting and inspiring 🤩! Why? #AkerBPGraduates within Drilling&Wells get exposed to several roles during their rotation, which is typically a role within wells drilling, completion, intervention and P&A. I started as an offshore engineer in the Jack-up Alliance. The almighty #NobleInvincible was then at Valhall DP, doing a P&A job. I was impressed by how much technology was used in what I thought was just “set that cement plug”. Not at all. We did perforate/wash/cement and used melted metal alloy to mention few cool things. My journey continued in Drilling with the same rig, where I learned that it is quite possible to drill wells with over 200 m/hr, #FirstOrBest, and how important collaboration and positive attitude are when planning and executing drilling jobs. I was doing 2-2-2 (office-offshore-off) rotation, which allowed healthy work/life balance. Then I started in wells Completion where I learned that precision down to a cm is very important even if (or especially if!) we are installing liner at 3000 mMD. I also learned about control lines, and exit blocks, and the role of Instrumentation after the well is handed over from Drilling and Completion (spoiler, they do a final touch to the Christmas tree before the well is set to production!). Now I am in wells Interventions, which has become a life-style in a sense. Our main areas is wells stimulation, which increases production and wells repair, which also increases production. We basically live to help those wells to keep producing, which is brilliant. I do think we are doing an important job and I highly recommend all #graduates to investigate the possibilities of wells intervention (and to all drilling people to reconsider who are the cool kids on the playground 😎). I am also representing young professionals at #icota - Intervention and Coiled Tubing Association, because I believe that networking and #knowledgesharing is the way to go for our little proud community 🫶🏻 ICoTA Europe (Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association) So embrace the challenge, take on responsibility, and ask for guidance and help! Remember that we are #OneTeam. We are not afraid to fail as long as we keep #safetyfirst and have valid arguments for trying out new methods. I am looking forward to meet you. And btw, we have the most fun social events 🥳🤩 Last but not least, remember to use correct PPE when out there! Below are some pictures from my recent trip to #edvardgrieg with well intervention supervisor Eirik Aartun

The first five Yggdrasil subsea templates have been safely installed in the Yggdrasil area. The templates are the first building blocks of the major Yggdrasil development, and with this the project has entered a new phase with offshore installations.   The templates are 30 metres long, 20 metres wide and weighs 418 tonnes. First steel for the templates was cut just over one year ago at Marketex Offshore Construction in Tallinn in Estonia. The yard is delivering nine identical templates for the Yggdrasil area in collaboration with Aker Solutions and the Subsea Alliance between Aker BP, OneSubsea and Subsea7 7.   "Marketex has delivered the first five templates safely, with quality and on plan. During the last weeks the Subsea 7 vessel Seven Arctic has installed the templates on the seabed in the Munin area of Yggdrasil. It is great to have reached this phase of the project, and this milestone is very important for the major offshore work the Subsea Alliance will deliver in the coming years," states Jan Fredrik Sørensen, Project manager Yggdrasil subsea.

"I was told that the purpose of Aker BP ASA D&W graduate program is to create D&W engineers with good understanding of multiple sub-domains in D&W, and looking back now I can’t agree more", says former graduate Omar El Demerdash Stauy tune for graduate positions on August 7. #AkerBPgraduates

Drilling & Wells engineer, Aker BP ASA

I am writing this post from one of our alliance rigs, Noble invincible, where I currently work as an offshore engineer. Being back on the rig where I had part of my graduate training when I was one of #AkerBPgraduates made me reflect on my graduate journey and I wanted to share it with you. This time I am also joined by Nadia and Cecilia where they had their first offshore trip as part of their summer internship. I was told that the purpose of Aker BP ASA D&W graduate program is to create D&W engineers with good understanding of multiple sub-domains in D&W, and looking back now I can’t agree more. I have worked with different teams within different sub-domains in D&W, such as drilling, intervention, completion and finally plug & abandonment. I have been offshore on semi-sub rigs, jack-up rigs and production platforms. • Within drilling, I was introduced to the rig operations and equipment. I have been involved in both exploration and production wells. I understood the importance of collaboration between onshore and offshore and within our alliance partners as part of our OneTeam-culture. And not to mention, our D&W digital strategy and tools. • Within intervention, I started to form a better a understanding of the D&W sub-domains and the impact drilling and completion can have on well intervention later on, during the well life cycle. • Within completion I worked on new technologies that increase production and reduce cost as part of our D&W strategy. • And finally in Plug & Abandonment where I worked on challenging and interesting wells, and I understood the impact that all the above mentioned sub-domains could have on the feasibility to plug the well safely, successfully and cost-effectively. Throughout the graduate journey, we followed our AkerBP learning model which uses “on the job training” as our main learning and development source, which meant relevant and challenging tasks from day one 🤩, and with the support and guidance of our experienced colleagues. I am looking forward to continuing my journey in AkerBP, to develop and grow. I am also happy to be part of a company that aims to transform our industry and create the leading oil and gas company of the future. If you would like to be my colleague and experience an exciting graduate journey like mine, have a look at our website for more details on our different graduate positions, not only in D&W but throughout our different business units across AkerBP. Drilling & Wells Engineer at Aker BP ASA

Hi all, I would like to share with you some highlights of my time as a graduate in Aker BP ASA. I joined AkerBP fulltime in 2021 and started as #AkerBPGraduates within D&W, and I have had the opportunity to work on various projects and tasks across different disciplines and locations. With a lot of great people. Here are some of the things that I have learned and enjoyed during my graduate journey: • I have worked with different teams and functions, such as exploration drilling, production drilling, completion, interventions. I have learned a lot technical and business aspects of D&W operations, and the culture and values within D&W. • Within exploration I really enjoyed the close cooperation with our favorite “frenemies” EXPRES (Exploration and reservoir development) in the hunt for more data and more barrels “of energy”. • Within intervention the focus was on keeping cost low, keeping it simple and cheap, and keeping the wells we “have already” providing as much value as possible. • In completion it was all about finishing off production and injection wells in style, “no point drilling a well you can’t produce or inject into”. • As #AkerBPGraduates in D&W I have worked both offshore and onshore, seeing both aspects of our complex operations up close. • One unusual and special opportunity I received as an #AkerBPGraduates was the chance to work with the 2021 election for parliament with Offshore Norge. • All the different teams I have been a part of all have their different flavor of the D&W cultures and ways of interacting, but common for all is the desire to be “first or best” and working in the “alliance mindset” with our selected partners within the different alliances. • It can be tough to start your first full time job, and at Aker BP you will face some problems that you are not sure how to handle, but with the help of skilled and knowledgeable people around you, you will succeed. I feel glad and inspired to work at Aker BP, a company that want to change the industry, reducing carbon emissions, and having a positive impact on society. I am looking forward to continuing my career in Aker BP, and to take on new challenges and opportunities that will help me grow and contribute. If this appeals to you, please visit our website and career page for more details and how to apply. Look up the tag #AkerBPGraduates for more stories from other graduates. Aker BP is looking for skilled and enthusiastic people who want to make a difference in the oil and gas industry. And I always enjoy working with new people, having lunch with them, and playing ping pong together here in Trondheim.

Aker BP and Halliburton started a journey together two and a half years ago to solve the challenges related to connecting and coordinating engineering work performed in all our business units in the Field Development Planning process. Last week, Paula Doyle and Arnfinn Grøtte attended the LIFE-conference in Athens to finally show the solution working with real data from all domains connected. We are now live with Agile Asset Management, which allows us to connect heavy engineering workflows from different platforms in different business units. With exceptional visualization, we are driving cross-collaboration for our engineers to a new level in any project. A big leap for us to become a truly data driven company. We thank Halliburton and partners for making this a reality. #LIFE2024 #datadriven #tech #oneteam

This week the Fenris jacket arrived from Aker Solutions in Verdal to the Fenris offshore field in the Valhall area and was installed on the sea bottom by the giant lifting vessel Sleipnir from Heerema Marine Contractors. It went according to plan and the jacket is being fastened by 68-meter-long piles. The next step is to install the PDM, predrill module, on the jacket over the coming days. Well done team Fenris and team Heerema! #Fenris #jacket #installation #Valhall
