The historic Saks Fifth Avenue has opened a West Coast flagship store in Beverly Hills. The iconic, former Barney's building has undergone a complete makeover, focusing on paying homage to its storied past while aligning with the Saks design language. The Saks team collaborated with Arcadis (formerly CRTKL) to create a space as impressive as its East Coast location. While the exterior of the building remains largely untouched to allow the iconic architecture to shine, the interior has undergone a complete transformation with upgrades to the materials, finishes, and textures. Arcadis is pleased to be recognized by Interior Design Magazine's Best of Year Awards in the Large Commercial Lobby & Amenity Space category for Capital One Headquarters, Block A. With interior design by Arcadis and base building architecture by Gensler, the soaring 13-story atrium utilizes intersecting bridges and connecting stairs at multiple levels across two buildings. Arcadis created a collage of hospitality-infused amenity and meeting spaces connecting workplace zones on either side. The new headquarters considers the organization’s future and embodies the Capital One ethos of collaboration, approachability, and innovation, creating an energetic work environment that attracts and retains the brightest associates. The Washington DC Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) selected Bill McCarthy of Arcadis to receive the award for “Outstanding Contributions to Architecture (Industry Award)” for 2023. We are excited to celebrate his accomplishment! Mr. McCarthy is a principal and leader of Arcadis' Government and Civic architecture and planning. He has dedicated his entire career to helping clients identify their complex technological, security, and programmatic requirements. Over almost three decades, he has been involved with the planning and design of some of our nation's most secure facilities for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, GSA, NAVFAC, NASA, National Archives, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, Architect of the Capitol, and the Intelligence Community, including NGIC, NMIC, DISA, NGA, and DTRA. He has a rare ability to create secure public buildings that inspire pride and a sense of ownership among the people they serve. #AEC #federalAE

We’re proud to announce that Arcadis was recognized for its design of Google Canada’s new office at the NAIOP GTA Real Estate Excellence Awards. The building’s design centers on sustainable principles and employee wellbeing while reflecting the vibrant financial district in which it is located.
