A Year With SKT (2017)[edit]

Ahead of the 2017 season, SK Telecom T1 acquired Peanut from the ROX Tigers to fill the vacant spot in the jungle Bae "Bengi" Seong-woong left. [1]

Together with Peanut together with SKT dominated the season, finishing the regular season with a 16-2 record to place themselves directly in the finals of the Playoffs. Here they defeated KT Rolster in a 3-0 sweep and qualified for MSI. At MSI they toppled the Group Stage with a 8-2 record and qualified for the Knockout Stage. Within the Group Stage, peanut had a standout performance playing Lee Sin. Against their match against the GIGABYTE Marines Peanut set a recurd for the most kills within the first 15 minutes of a proffesional game. Gaining 15 kills, 12 which were in just the first 12 minutes. [2]

Continuing in the Playoffs they defeated Flash Wolves in a 3-0 sweep and entered the finals against Europe's G2 Esports. SK Telecom won the series in a 3-1 victory, with Peanut being awarded the MVP title for the last game. With this victory, Peanut gained his first international trophy.

The following split SK Telecom dropped off in performance, only ending in 4th in the regular season. But it seemed the team came back, battling their way through the playoffs to make it back to the finals. They however lost against Longzhu Gaming, but still qualified for Worlds through the Championship points as the second seed. Meaning Peanut would attend his second World Championship. Now as a part of SKT who had won two World Championship prior.

SKT had a strong start in the Group Stage, topping their group. However the Playoffs saw SKT almost lose to Misfits Gaming as they fell behind 1-2 in the series. SKT however was able to recover and secure the victory. In their next series they found themselves against Royal Never Give Up, which turned into another back-and-forth series, with SKT again coming out on top. Now Peanut has reached his first Worlds Final, however after falling behind in the series 0-2, Peanut was subbed out in favour Kang "Blank" Sun-gu. The substitution however didn'tt help, as the SKT dominance would end as the team was swept 0-3 by their LCK counterparts Samsung Galaxy.

Concluding the competitive year, Peanut's contract with SKT had ended and he parted ways with the organization. [3] A few days after it was announced that for the following year, Peanut signed with Longzhu Gaming. [4]
