We were delighted to hold an event in Dublin this week to engage with policymakers from across the political spectrum. In just eight years, we've created a €109 million fund for social innovation across Ireland, positively impacting the lives of over one million people. But as far as we're concerned, that's just the start. So we're calling on TDs, senators and ministers to join us in our journey towards a more just, equal and sustainable Ireland. Thanks to the support of our donors and successive governments, we've been able to give dynamic not-for-profits the opportunity to scale and build their operations and continue to innovate solutions to the most pressing issues facing Irish society today, while also providing them with consistent business supports and impact measurement along the way. We'd like to give our sincere thanks to everyone who came out on Wednesday to speak with us and learn more about what we do, and why the venture philanthropy model is key to leaving behind a healthy, sustainable Ireland for future generations. Together we can all build the future we would like to see. Read our new Impact Report, One Million Strong and find out more about what we do: https://buff.ly/4eJ055U #socialinnovation #socialpolicy #philanthropy #impact

Rethink Ireland have reached over one million people by becoming a €109 million fund for social innovation in Ireland💫 This would not have been possible without the support of our amazing donors. We are fortunate to partner with many bold, courageous and compassionate leaders who seek to invest in social change in Ireland. In this video, you'll hear from some of them, including Fernando Vicario, Will Carmody, John Kearns, Cera Ward, Anthony Brennan, Ralph Parkes, and Shane Doyle, discussing the impact we've made together. Big thanks to Bank of America Business, Mason Hayes & Curran LLP, IPB Insurance, Google, Zurich Ireland, State Street, the Parkes Family Limerick, the Department of Rural and Community Development and all our other donors, for your faithful support throughout the years. Ireland needs more innovative solutions to combat some of our biggest challenges when it comes to equality, the green transition, health and education. At Rethink Ireland, we believe in the power of philanthropy for its ability to take risks and act as a catalyst for incredible, innovative ideas to create social change 💡 We want to invite you to be part of the journey because we know that together, we can create a more just, equal and sustainable Ireland 🌱 Are you interested in donating to a more just, equal and sustainable Ireland? An inspiring graduation day for the CAPCA program (Creative Approaches to Practical Community Advocacy) led by Father & Son Jonathan & Fionn Angus, Fionn and Jonathan Angus celebrating 15 new advocates with Down syndrome making a difference in the community! 🎓 The atmosphere was electric! George Webster, a BBC Cebeebies presenter and Bafta winner, shared his belief in never letting anything hold you back. He is not only the first ever presenter on Cbeebies with Down syndrome, but also an author and an incredible ambassador for individuals with Down's Syndrome. Special thanks to Minister Anne Rabbitte T.D. from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth for funding this impactful project through the Disability Participation and Awareness fund by Rethink Ireland. Amazing to be part of their journey #Advocacy #Community #Inclusion #DisabilityAwareness #Inspiration

Congratulations to all participants who just completed our Start a Social Enterprise Business Course 2024 in partnership with IPB Insurance! Seeing these students learn from the sessions, create new connections with other participants and develop their future plans has been brilliant and we can't wait to see their ideas develop further. Our modules have covered everything from Ireland's social enterprise landscape, creating an effective fundraising campaign to mastering social media and storytelling. As one participant, Armando Carias-Henriquez, put it: "I had the pleasure to be part of the Start a Social Enterprise Course, and during this amazing journey I learned a lot about the specific context of social enterprises in Ireland and how to create an effective fundraising campaign. "I also learned about policymaking, content and how to refine my business ideas... I connected with amazing people and I got a lot of inspiration from them, and this is all really helping me to move forward with more strength and confidence about myself." Big thanks to all the fantastic speakers on the course: Lynda Stopford, Deirdre Mortell, Duncan Walker, Sam Whelan-Curtin, Helen Nolan, Padraic Vallely, Chris MM Gordon, Alison McKinley, Erika Nordbring O'Regan and Declan Droney. Now in its third year, the course has been made possible through a partnership between Rethink Ireland, IPB Insurance and the Department of Rural and Community Development via the Dormant Accounts Fund. We recently held an in-person event at the F2 Centre in Rialto to mark the end of this six-week online course and give participants the opportunity to network in person as they move their social enterprise ideas forward. One of Rethink Ireland's current fund awardees, Loaf Catering and Cafes in Kilmainham, provided a delicious lunch for participants at the end of a busy and invigorating day and our CEO Deirdre Mortell also had some words of encouragement and inspiration for all attendees. Several participants on the course will now join our upcoming Accelerator programme as they take the next steps to turn their social enterprise ideas into a reality. Well done to everyone who took part on this journey so far! ✨

Hear Susan Adams, from our Impact Fund for Munster 2023 awardee Education for Sustainability, share some important reminders for Plastic Free July 🌱 #sustainability #plasticfreejuly
It's Day 1 of Plastic Free July 2024. 😊 Our founder Susan Adams made some "Pointless Plastic" videos with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council in 2021, which we feel the need to reshare! Since Covid19, we've sadly gone backwards on our commitment to *reusables*. It goes without saying that reusable items have a far, far greater impact than recycling. An enormous health impact on us, on wildlife and on the environment. We need to RECOMMIT TO REUSE. And ditch our addiction to plastic 🙌

Rethink Ireland have reached the milestone of becoming a €100 million Fund for social innovation, and through the work of our awardees, we have impacted over one million people in Ireland 🌟 Together, we are #OneMillionStrong, and one of our awardees who have played a part in this is ShoutOut . They do amazing work to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people by sharing personal stories and running educational programmes Despite positive #socialchange in society in the past years, young people are still facing homophobic and transphobic violence, bullying and isolation. ShoutOut’s educational workshops in schools and youth groups directly tackle harmful attitudes towards the #LGBTQ+ community and promote allyship, empowering students to act as advocates in their communities. Hear their Executive Director Ruadhán Ó., explain what the support from the HeadStart Fund has meant for their organisation 👇 "We can now reach any school that needs us, no matter how big or small, no matter how rurally located, or how large a town or a city. We now don't have to say no to any school because of capacity" Kudos to the rest of the awardees of the HeadStart Fund, who as Ruadhán mentions, are all doing impactful work across the country for young people to bolster their mental health outcomes 🙌 The HeadStart Fund is a three-year, €3M Fund created by Rethink Ireland in collaboration with the Z Zurich Foundation , Zurich Ireland and Health Service Executive. It supports initiatives offering early interventions, well-being and resilience programmes, and other mental health supports, to young people in #Ireland. #socialinnovation #mentalhealth #socialimpact #pride #mentalhealthmatters Bohemian Football Club First Fortnight Hair Together CLG Liquid Therapy spunout Way 2 Work Ireland
