LUNCH Lyrics
Oh, mm-mm
[Chorus]
I could eat that girl for lunch
Yeah, she dances on my tongue
Tastes like she might be the one
And I could never get enough
I could buy her so much stuff
It's a craving, not a crush, huh
"Call me when you're there"
Said, "I bought you somethin' rare
And I left it under 'Claire'"
So now, she's comin' up the stairs
So I'm pullin' up a chair
And I'm puttin' up my hair
[Verse 1]
Baby, I think you were made for me
Somebody write down the recipe
Been tryin' hard not to overeat
You're just so sweet
I'll run a shower for you like you want
Clothеs on the counter for you, try 'em on
If I'm allowеd, I'll help you take 'em off
Huh
I could eat that girl for lunch
Yeah, she dances on my tongue
Tastes like she might be the one
And I could never get enough
I could buy her so much stuff
It's a craving, not a crush, huh
[Post-Chorus]
Oh, I just wanna get her off, oh
Oh
Oh, oh
Oh
[Verse 2]
She's takin' pictures in the mirror
Oh my God, her skin's so clear
Tell her, "Bring that over here"
You need a seat? I'll volunteer
Now she's smilin' ear to ear
She's the headlights, I'm the deer
[Bridge]
I've said it all before, but I'll say it again
I'm interested in more than just bein' your friend
I don't wanna break it, just want it to bend
Do you know how to bend?
About
“LUNCH” is one of Billie’s boldest tracks to date. Likening lesbian sex to an afternoon meal, Billie discusses both her sexual prowess and desire to be with an unnamed woman – the latter theme being one of many defining the album. It is second track from Billie Eilish’s third studio album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT. It explores themes of queerness, identity, confidence, and questioning, making it simultaneously one of Eilish’s more explicit and undertoned songs. Eilish discussed the song in an interview with Rolling Stone, where she discussed how the song helped her understand her queer identity better.
The song was first revealed during Coachella 2024, where Eilish played snippets of the song preceding her set. On April 12, 2024, Eilish announced on Apple Music that a music video for the song would be released. This video was ultimately released on May 17.

That song was actually part of what helped me become who I am, to be real, I wrote some of it before even doing anything with a girl, and then wrote the rest after. I’ve been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn’t understand — until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina. I was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever, in a million years.

While Eilish dated rapper Brandon Adams and singer Jesse® before, Eilish confirmed her queer identity during an interview for Variety’s November 2023 Cover Story:
I have deep connections with women in my life, the friends in my life, the family in my life, I’m physically attracted to them. But I’m also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence
She explained her comments during a red carpet interview with Variety:
I didn’t, but I kinda thought, wasn’t it obvious?…I’m just like, why can’t we just exist? I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it. I saw the article, and I was like, ‘Oh, I guess I came out today!
However, she later called out the news outlet on Instagram for “outing her instead of talking about anything else that matters.”
She also expressed frustration during an interview with Rolling Stones, regarding how the published interview became a surprise to her:
I was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever, in a million years, it’s really frustrating to me that it came up.
