As of May 30, 2024, AMCAD Engineering has joined the SIMULIA Brand of Dassault Systèmes. It is solely dedicated to selling and supporting the software products IVCAD, IQSTAR, VISION and WHITEBOARD, as part of the SIMULIA brand portfolio. AMCAD SAS has been formed to continue its hardware-related business, including the Pulse IV System, Automatic Test Equipment, and other hardware solutions. AMCAD SAS will remain under the umbrella of the CGD Group, including its sister companies, WUPATEC and ITEST. AMCAD SAS specializes in the sale of measurement and test instruments. Dassault Systèmes and AMCAD SAS have a partnership dedicated to helping customers design smart and safe communication systems. AMCAD SAS will maintain this LinkedIn account and share communications with AMCAD Engineering until their transition to the SIMULIA brand is complete.     RF and microwave circuit design involves major challenges, particularly when it comes to guaranteeing stability. Traditional analysis methodologies, whether linear or non-linear, are often insufficient, making the designers' work more complicated. 🔍 Challenges Engineers Face: Linear methods like Rollet factor and μ factor are limited to small-signal analyses and fail with complex multistage circuits. Nonlinear methods are complex and require external tools, making implementation arduous and time-consuming. 💡 Our Solution: Our recent showcase presentations demosntrate how the STAN tool, from AMCAD Engineering, overcomes these obstacles: ▶ Comprehensive stability analysis for both linear and nonlinear conditions. ▶ User-friendly interface compatible with commercial CAD tools. ▶ Simplified result analysis, making stability assessments more efficient and accurate. 📄 Want to know more?     The evolution of telecommunication has been marked by a series of major transformations with significant advances in key areas such as high-efficiency RF power amplifiers, wireless technology for 5G, IoT, and beyond. These advances have been made possible by improved transistor technology and the growing use of GaN HEMT transistors that achieve higher power density.     Gallium Nitride (GaN) HEMT transistors are known for their high cut-off frequency and impressive power density. However, they can suffer from performance degradation due to trapping phenomena. Traditional I-V (current voltage) characterization methods, such as single- and double-pulse techniques, can fall short of capturing the complexities of real-world operating conditions, particularly thermal effects and trap phenomena. This limitation poses significant challenges in accurately modeling these transistors for RF applications. To help overcome these challenges our AMCAD Engineering team, now a part of the SIMULIA brand of Dassault Systèmes, has developed a new methodology that combines pre-RF pulses with DC pulses. This approach provides a more realistic representation of thermal and trapping conditions under high-frequency load pull scenarios. Utilizing a VNA-based load-pull measurement system, our innovative technique not only reduces the time required for compact model development but also ensures reliable performance.     We are pleased to announce that AMCAD Engineering has been acquired by Dassault Systèmes, joining its SIMULIA brand, dedicated to delivering science-based multiscale, multiphysics modeling and simulation solutions that enable companies to accelerate the development of safe, reliable, and sustainable products. This move aligns with the mission of AMCAD Engineering to streamline design processes and lower prototyping expenses by making measurement, modeling and simulation more accessible to RF and Microwave circuit-system designers throughout the development process. AMCAD Engineering’s software products, including IVCAD, VISION IQSTAR, and Whiteboard, are now part of the SIMULIA brand. For 20 years, AMCAD ENGINEERING has been at the forefront of addressing our customers’ measurement, modeling and simulation challenges of RF components and circuits. Initially established as an engineering services company, our expertise in precise modeling based on reliable and unique measurement data has become the cornerstone of our comprehensive software suite for accurately designing and optimizing the performance of microwave circuits. ‘’I am very pleased to welcome the AMCAD team to the SIMULIA brand of Dassault Systèmes. AMCAD will complement our brand’ leading multiphysics / multiscale simulation solutions by adding the modeling and characterization capabilities for the active network,’’ states Peter Hammes, Senior Director of SIMULIA R&D Technology at Dassault Systèmes. ‘’Their industry knowledge and expertise will help our customers achieve their product performance objectives and extend our brand’s capabilities in the radio frequency simulation market.’’ As part of the acquisition agreement, the AMCAD “Hardware” business unit, including the Pulse IV System, Automatic Test Equipment, and other hardware solutions, was transferred to AMCAD SAS, a newly established company. AMCAD SAS will remain under the umbrella of the CGD Group, which includes its sister companies, WUPATEC and ITEST. AMCAD SAS and the CGD Group will also continue to manage the EXOCIS activity, which involves distributing and integrating third-party hardware solutions from MPI, X-Microwave, Microsanj, Maury, and other partner hardware products. Starting from May 30, 2024, AMCAD SAS will handle all hardware-related business. Dassault Systèmes and AMCAD SAS have entered into a partnership agreement to ensure current and futurecompatibility and optimization of their respective software and hardware. As of May 30, 2024, AMCAD Engineering, now a Dassault Systèmes company, will focus solely on its software business. The combined AMCAD Engineering and SIMULIA teams are committed to delivering and supporting comprehensive, end-to-end modeling and simulation solutions to accelerate the development of wireless communication systems for civil, aerospace, and defense applications.

    Meet AMCAD at booth #1539 at the IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS) conference in Washington, DC, on June 18th 📍 Come and explore a dedicated test bench created by our hardware team to optimize the power combining of parallel amplifiers! This demonstration is one of the many solutions we develop daily for our customers. For the past two years, our team has been creating automated test benches, like the one shown in the picture below, recently delivered to one of our clients. 🤝 In this application, IQSTAR software controls all the elements (power wattmeter matrix, switch matrix developed by AMCAD, pressure sensors, humidity and temperature sensors, power supplies, vector network analyzers, vector signal analyzer) to automate testing and measurement reports in a production environment, as a turnkey solution! Our customers are now using tools for unrivaled efficiency and measurement accuracy.
