The Better Way to monitor bridges: ASC CS Sensors Reliable sensor-based monitoring systems offer continuous insights into bridge conditions. The MEMS-based, capacitive accelerometers from the ASC CS series are preferred for their loss-free signal transmission in continuous condition monitoring and structural health monitoring (SHM), particularly in bridge structural analysis. Notably, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the world's longest bridge-tunnel sea crossing spanning 55 kilometers and opened in 2018, is already benefiting from ASC sensors for its monitoring. The ASC CS series models enable comprehensive dynamic characterization of bridge properties. With a current output signal ranging from 4-20 mA and broadband noise of <0.2 µA, they are well-suited for applications requiring extensive cable lengths (>100 m) or high EMC immunity. In the short video below I am comparing an EMT simulation of the IEEE European Test Feeder in Simscape Electrical, against the published benchmark results (available at this link https://lnkd.in/e3vCTiy8). Because the published results are for quasi-static power flow at one-minute intervals over a 24-hour period, I ‘compressed’ the load profiles to update every 3 cycles (50Hz system frequency), which means the simulation is 86.34 seconds long to capture the 1440 intervals. Time-step for the EMT simulation is 50 microseconds and the simulation took 2 hours to complete 86.34 seconds. The average relative error for voltage magnitude over the full simulation is 0.02%, with peak relative error hitting 0.11% on load53 voltage. Unlike GC DGA, which requires periodic maintenance for the replacement of calibration gas and carrier gas, it save the money during the whole lifespan. The MEMS light source provides high sensitivity in C2H2 detection to meet on-site applications with a 2 ppm alarm threshold. Compared to laser light sources DGA, in the detection of C2H2, MEMS light sources can offer higher sensitivity.
