Amsterdam, The Netherlands
I stayed at the beautiful location of Yoga Weeks in Barcelona for 5 nights/6 days in november 2021. Ana, the founder/owner, is such a warm and enthusiastic host and made me feel immediately at home. Beforehand, I had quite some trouble with my travels from Amsterdam to Barcelona (cancelled train tickets etc.) in which Ana was super understanding and flexible. My stay has been absolutely amazing: Ana and the teachers of Yoga Weeks definitely have created a beautiful & safe space with great vibes. The location couldn't be better, brunch is healthy & super tasty and the sunny rooftop is amazing. About the yoga classes: we received classes from four different teachers with a focus on Vinyasa and Hatha. All the teachers had a lot of experience and taught me a lot (I have been practicing yoga for +- 5 years now). They each had their own style - I enjoyed the variety of the classes a lot. We were in a group with different levels/strengths/points of improvement but most of the teachers gave tailored guidance to every individual in the class which I think was really valuable.

In general, I look back at an amazing experience - would definitely recommend this retreat!! Hope to be back with Yoga Weeks in either Barcelona or Ibiza :)

Since my Teacher Training in 2019 this is my absolute favorite place to stay for yoga retreats! You get so much for the very affordable price - yoga teachers are super professional, food is amazing and all people there from staff to guests are super easygoing and relaxed! Plus, the location in BCN is perfect to enjoy the city in the free time between the classes! Definitely not my last stay here :) Thanks to Ana & the team!

This was my first ever yoga retreat and also first ever solo holiday, and can only sing the praises of this place! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, I paid extra to have my own room which was spacious with a double bed and fan. While the bathrooms are shared they are always clean, and the kitchen space is very accommodating with lovely tea and coffee! The classes were great, really got my yoga passion back on track, and was amazing to meet so many different people here. The location is very central so perfect for the combination of a relaxing retreat but also a lot of culture very close by! Thank you so much :)

YogaWeeks accommodation was worst than I expected. The location is rough with homeless people sleeping outside and a lot of noise coming from students living above and a pizzeria next door. I didnt sleep well and didnt feel this was an appropriate place for a yoga shala. All of this could have been compensated by a beautiful enviroment inside, however this was sadly lacking.

Given that we would be spending a month here - no renovations were made during lockdown to improve on previous reviews complaints about broken chairs, broken windows, broken beds, no hot water, etc. When I arrived there was even broken glass in my room and used plasters in a storage basket. I was told my room had just been cleaned... The fridge and microwave were dirty and the kettle had so much limescale, we bought vinegar and descaled it ourselves.

During our stay we also found cockroaches and insects in the apartment, which again highlights the lack of hygiene - I'm just glad the meals werent prepared here.

There is so much potential but it is clear that the management has no regard to the wellbeing and comfort of guests who stay here.

Dear Lana, we find this review so harsh after all. It seems Yoga Weeks is a horrible space and that is simply manipulative and not true. Luckily all other reviews say the opposite. But In any case, we have had a FULL RENOVATION NOVEMBER 2021, so we are now enjoying an incredible nice brand new space: new walls, beds, linen, mattress, kitchen, bathrooms and yoga materials. everything. We also wanted to point, that we TOTALLY DISAGREE on the cleaning bit. Penelope cleans this space every day with love and professionalism. We have no insects at all. I am sorry if you found any, You were living in the house for over 4 weeks and part of the hygiene must come from guests too, to keep a clean food free rooms so no animals visit. Still Penelope cleaned DAILY it with dedication, service and professionalism.

Be very careful before you book here!

I stayed for 6 days of a very uncomfortable.
When I arrived there was no greeting or welcome or orientation, some chaos that morning as the yoga teacher did not show up.
I reserved a private room for 208euros a night, that’s right!
The bed was cracking every time I move. The place is old and the noise of the flushing toilets and closing of the doors are so loud, you cannot have a restful night.
The vegetarian brunch was okay, not sure if there is enough protein served.
The place need major repairs and not a relaxing place to travel and practice yoga.
I traveled from NY, my long journey was nothing but a disappointment.
I guess this is like a dormitory type like accommodation.
There are NO closets to put my clothes, so basically I lived on my suitcase.
The roof top yoga smells food at all times because of the nearby market and restaurants.
The beddings are thin with flat small pillows.
I asked for a blanket every day and finally got it on my 4th night when some guests checked out.
I don’t see anyone cleaning the yoga mats and this is an issue for health reasons.

I stayed in a five star hotel after and did not have to pay that much as I paid them.
It’s a total ripped off.
BTW only 2 showers so be ready to wait for your turn.

You need to be fully informed because I have stayed in several yoga places and this is the worst.

I am sorry Nora, but we are certainly not a total Dumpster and this is a very aggressive note. You stayed with us on a private room for 8 days. Very happy, big smile everyday, went to all classes, ate all brunches. Enjoyed Barcelona and plenty of shopping you did for your niece. No one comment about anything above was made. As soon as you left, started to threat with reviews and insult for a refund. I am sorry but we wont accept such a blackmail. If you were not happy, you could have said onsite and we would of course refunded for nights not used and let you go. We are a nice charming yoga house spotless clean with a humble team that loves what they do but certainly not a 5* hotel. If you wanted a hotel in the centre of Barcelona, offering all we do for the money you paid staying with us, we invite you to try and find it.

I stayed for 4 days in a single room during the main holiday session.
The apartment was fully booked and all people I met where lovely without exceptions. The community at this place made it overall a good experience and nice, little adventure.

The yoga: I had three different yoga teacher during this time. I wasn't convinced by the teaching abilities of all three. However, I had a view classes with Mar and she is an extraordinary teacher. She will guide you safely, with all necessary cues through the asanas and with her passion for teaching yoga she really creates magical moments. Thank you Mar for this great experience!

Regarding the housing: No, it's not a five star hotel, it's a spacious shared apartment with basic furniture, right in the city center.
All common areas are cleaned every day. It's not spotless clean (light switches and doors are a bit greasy) but I found it acceptable clean.
What I found quite disappointing, however, was the fact that my room had a window but no daylight. That looks quiet different on the website. I asked for another room but at this time all rooms were occupied and from what I saw, out of 7 or 8 rooms only 2 have windows with daylight. You should also know, that there is no key to your room. The room is always open but the front door of the apartment is only accessible with a key.

In summary, this might be a place for you, specially as a solo traveler, if you want to explore the city and do a little yoga on site.
If you are looking for a quiet, bright and relaxing oasis for your vacation you have to look for a different place. If you an regularly practicing yogi and you are looking for a retreat were you can bring your practice to the next level I would properly also not recommend this place.

This a great gem in Barcelona. A beautiful Yoga house, right in the centre. Great quality yoga, you get to try with few different teachers.
The house is located at the old town, so perfect to go and explore. I had an incredible break and will totally recommend anyone looking for a cool Yoga experience to join. Very good price for all included!
Gracias amigos, I will be back! <3

Unfortunately there were issues with our accommodation, a group of 7 on a private yoga retreat. One of the doors had a broken lock, which was looked up but needed to be replaced and it wasn't; one of the rooms had a part of a wall painted during our stay because it had a dump patch at arrival, without permission someone got into the room and did the job while the guest was out; the water distributor machine was replaced one afternoon causing big noise (wall drilling) and lots of dust..for these inconveniences the host offered a discount on the next booking (and with a dead line of end of 2017)..perhaps a fair offer for some..

Hello Catia, We have been going through that for a little while now and the full Yoga Weeks team is deeply sad you have decided to leave this review. None of that information is real nor accurate,. Lucky dozens of great reviews here and other onlines sites such us BookYogaretreats, etc.. can back us up . We did offer a great discount for you as a gesture of courtesy and good will - even tho we did NOT agree to anything and not much of the above is real or relevant, but we knew that with a retreat of 7 with our set up, costs do not add up, so we were happy to help in further retreats as we could see your clients were happy with the Yoga Weeks retreat after all. Again, we cannot be responsible of casualties and our obligation is to fix and maintain the space according to our standards and H&S regulations. So our team did. No money can be refunded for that. You were informed at all times and in advanced and we could have arranged it differently if you would have said before or onsite. We are very sad you have decided to post this review and we will of course, have to withdraw any further discount offer or collaboration with you. We wish you however all the best in your endeavours, Ana Puig - YW founder .
